Description Roundabout story is roundabout.

A while back, *Helix-Wing and I found the teletraan article about smelting pools . We mostly talked about how Downfall would bathe in one of the pictures . We ended up rping some ~Darker-Futures stuff based on that discussion.

Today, I flew back to school. The family across the aisle from me was ... wow. Lemme just say the mom’s choice of vocabulary was not necessary but was completely understandable. The entire plane was pretending to ignore them for three hours.

Somehow, the two small screaming children got me thinking about Downfall and the smelting pits. Assign your own explanations to that tidbit of information .

Gale’s supposed to be looking down at Downfall, who is in the molten tub of good times.

Does anyone know how to keep a scanner from ingesting colored pencil work? I tried to fix things in photoshop but it still looks crummy. I might rescan this later if I remember/care.

In the event anyone cares - which is unlikely but w/e - I drew both pictures with a light grey brush pen, inked over that with a black brush pen, and then colored them with colored pencils.

There are times I fanaticize about dropping out of school and learning to be a professional inker :I

If it's any consolation, I would hire you in a heart-beat to ink my shitty lines. :/

I like this. You did this entirely in ink and colored pencils? Stipling? I'm impressed.

And if my dad wouldn't be hella pissed that he spend money sending me to college, I'd hunt you down like a true internet stalker and ink your not-shitty lines irl. I'd be your inking-for-food buddeh.

It looks so much better in the actual sketchbook. My scanner just makes it look like stipling because I do tons of layers but don't press down very hard.

The bright scanner light ruines the picture QQ

lol I'd fight him off. Him and his jar of Texas dirt. I'd lose, though.

Have you tried upping the resolution on it? Or maybe duplicating the later and Darkening/Multiplying it and then simply lowering the opacity on the eraser and erasing parts of it till it's juuuust dark enough.

That sometimes works for me.

I actually thought you had done this in photoshop and played around with the layer effects. I think it looks good, even if the scanner tried to white it out. :3

No way. My dad's a sissy. If he doesn't have a golf club, he's not gonna win.

I piddled with Curves, Hue/Saturation, and Unsharpen Mask. I don't usually think to try duplicating layers. I might give it a whirl next time

This? In photoshop?

Pfft, I doubt I could take him on with my 113 pounds of nothing. :/

Duplication usually works for me. Also playing with the layer settings like Multiply and Darken on top of adjusting the Opacity.

It's a little blurry but other than that I like it c:

I sharpened the picture in photoshop as much as I thought I could without making it overly crunchy looking.

Idk. I love colored pencils and ink but I don't like what my scanner does to them. I always have to fix things in photoshop, which makes me wonder how much I can edit something before it counts as digital art.

At first I just thought you were trying something different from the style of art you usually do but I get where you're getting that

Pretend it is because of the heat from the smelting pools >>
