The first thing that popped into my head when I saw this was "HEADCRAB!" My bf thinks Headcrabs are adorable. I think they look too much like spiders for my liking. But, good stuff as usual. Your comics are always so random and awesome! <3

Ha ha. Well, sometimes the old stuff is the best stuff, huh? If you like Alien (which of the four is your favorite?), then you must know that!

(Psst! Icon love from me to you )

very true, very true.
the first and second are my favorite. i mean the first started it all. and 80's (actually 78/79 right?) graphics and props and junk are the best!
i like Hudson, i quote him all the time! my mom thinks it's cool.
the third was okay, but factoring in all the drama behind the making of it, it sorta turns me away.
i liked Ressurection just fine. it's fun to watch, i was just glad they made another one! and it made sense (in a sci-fi way)!
i heard some stuff like four years ago about there being a fifth one, but i guess it never happened. oh well.
eh heh, sorry if that was longer than expected, but if it's a topic i love than i tend to ramble!

The first one was a classic but I just felt like it was kind of slow. Two was my favorite since ... I mean, it's just awesome. Plus it set up the bases for most of the Alien fanstuff around today. Without it, we'd be short Marines and Queens, which just wouldn't be right! Three was okay. Not great but pretty good. Definatly different and an interesting concept. Sort of Burt-Gummer-ish [link] though. Then four was really neat. Classic scifi, what with the cloning and all, but really different from the others. Having a part-alien Ripley was a really interesting idea that I never would have thought of.

All and all, a lovely quadrilogy that *everyone* should have to see at one point or another. In fact, I think there should be a class in high school where you watch all of the movies that have helped shape film today so that people can hold intellegent conversations as adults. For example, this year was the first time I saw 2001: A Space Odyssey and I've noticed more references since then! I felt kind of stupid in hindsight for making jokes I didn't actually get. Let's see, we'd have to make them watch Star Wars (the original trilogy), 2001, Alien (all four), Indiana Jones, Friday the Thirteenth (at least two of them), Nightmare on Elm Street, Psycho .... ah, there are so many. It's one of those things where you know there are all sorts of examples but can't think of them Oh well!

*sniffle* why can't more people think like you..

heh, i know who Burt Gummer is. you nailed it with that comparison. i've loved the Tremors films since i was very small. Graboids, so funny. makes living in Nevada seem almost cool(in a "oh no there aren't any boulders to run to" sort of way) . the fourth may have been a prequel, which i question in most cases, but it was still perfect for the series. ah, you know all the good ones.

it's funny you mention the Queen. i hadn't thought about that much. since that's what the next 2 were about. and the Marines. hee, for that simple reason i made my boyfriend watch the second one, cuz he's a Marine and that's the way my mind works! he didn't like it too much, but i don't care i still got him to watch it.

Alien Vs. Predator. good/bad? i enjoyed it. the Predator movies are great. the first way better than the second though. what i really loved about AVP was the Weyland being in it. me and my mom were all giggly about that when we saw it the first time. i bring it up because i got into an argument with a friend once about it not being a part of the Alien series. the rated version PG-13 for crying out loud. that irked me a bit when i first saw it, but it wasn't disapointing in the end. yay.

did you happen to see the sequel to Space Odyssey? 2010: A Space Odyssey. it was interesting to say the least. much more modern and more about being a hollywood movie and less about thinking. i get into arguments all the time about 2001 with my dad all the time. he seems to think that since it came out in his time he knows it better than i do. he might be right, but i still like to discuss it.

all of those films you listed are great and i'd have to think extra hard to think of more. thankfully you've got the original trilogy and not the new one. i really didn't care for those at all. how about The Abyss or The Thing? (i'm still trying to find the original to watch). oooh and maybe the Jaws films. every once in a while i get scared when i swim in a lake. well that isn't all Jaws fault. Creep Show 2 helped along with a handful of books/stories i've read. in the end it's my fault for reading/watching *sigh*. hmm, sounds more like a list for a movie night, but oh well.

lucky for me i'm taking a cinema and society class this next semester. unfortunately it is an internet class. my first since i started college. i've only gone through one semester. i would rather be in a classroom and was able to see who i'm discussing something with. seems more entertaining that way.
