Description No scream is heard with her lips sewn shut
No truth is seen because her eyes were cut
No justice is written for her hands are tied
No faith has she because her soul has died
As the world careens totally out of control
And people trade addictions for their soul
The collapse of morality becomes a torrid flood
As Lady Justice weeps tears of blood

So fucking true its not even funny. Martial Law is not justice. Just the other day I saw some cops beating up this kid, like some 16 year old or somewhere around that age, just cuz he fled them.America makes me sick nowadays.

Sad, but true. It's a fountain of bitter tears now

Reminds me of: [link] [link] [link]

I took a course called "Crime & Punishment in American Literature" this semester. Now that it's nearly finished, I realized that it's much worse than I thought.

It doesn't matter who they are or where they're from. I hate seeing people get away with crimes and wrongdoing. But they do. Criminals from all walks of life have been getting away for hundreds, maybe thousands of years. Even worse, some are worshiped like they're heroes or something. It's like the "winners write history" quote.

What can I say? It's evil...

The real monsters are right here: [link]

I agree. After many years in prosecution work I am unhappily familiar with the human-slime that lives among us.

I'm an undergraduate student, and I'm already familiar with the accursed ooze!

I am studying to be a county prosecutor, though, and I salute you for your work.

OMG county - that's the worst! Felony level - you will see it ALL. I'm at City level, so gross misdemeanors, misdemeanors and petty misdemeanors. It takes a strong person to deal with the County level. Best of luck to you! (p.s. you gonna learn to hate defense attorneys, lol).

Thank you I always wanted to work on the county level because it's the most interesting to me. I got to see some interesting court cases (or parts of them) when I was enrolled in my Criminal Law and Due Process classes.

And yes, I already know about the defense attorneys XD

When he retired from the prosecutor's office, one of my professors was offered a job at a defense firm. He declined because he thought it wouldn't be right to work for the other side after he spent so many years working for the court. I can definitely see what he means.

It is very difficult to change your mind set when on the prosecution side for a long time!

The rhyming was perfect, as was the cadence. It was easy to read, as far as flow and such. It makes it all the more startling! Such a beautiful poem, but the subject is a harsh reality.
