|| H I S T O R Y ||

Kithood: Wolfkit was born alongside his two brothers, Cragkit and Heavykit. The brothers weren't especially close, but they weren't distant either. Cragkit and Heavykit almost always seemed to have a closer bond. As for Wolfkit, he often found his mother's company enough. Mothfire had been warm and kind, yet she had a temper like no other. His father, Dourfog, was less pleasant, and spent little time with his family, focusing more so on his duties as a warrior than as a father. Either way, it never really disrupted the family aside from the occasional disagreement.

Apprenticeship: Wolfkit was named an apprentice alongside his littermates, and under the new name of "Wolfpaw", his mentorship was given unto the warrior Rockstep. His training with Rockstep was rigorous and difficult, but worth every aching bone as far as Wolfpaw was concerned. Things ran smoothly throughout his apprenticeship 'til about three moons prior to his warrior ceremony. Wolfpaw's mother fell ill, and only shortly after, she died from it, there having been a lack of the necessary herbs. Wolfpaw became reclusive with the absence of his closest confidante, and fell behind in his training as an apprentice. This almost risked his warrior ceremony being delayed until his mentor stepped in. Rockstep had always been a firm and blunt cat, and he had understood the feeling of loss that Wolfpaw was going through, however he knew when grieving should be enough. He'd confronted his apprentice and, despite the harshness behind Rockstep's words, he had been honest and raw with the younger tom, and it had been just what he needed. He was awake and things seemed to fall back into order. Wolfpaw caught back up in his training, and he worked harder than he had before with his mentor, and now probably closest friend 'til he was back into place alongside his brothers, and he earned his warrior name: Wolfstalker.

Warriorhood: Wolfstalker so far has spent his warriorhood working as hard as he can. He has been able to mark one particularly important event however. It also happens to be the origin of his most notable scars. Wolfstalker had been in charge of a patrol who were intended to take a look at possible fox scents. The scent marks that had been found, had been old, and so it was thought that the creature had simply passed through. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. Wolf's patrol ended up walking into the den. They had fully intended to simply leave, yet a headstrong and naive apprentice, Wolfstalker's apprentice, Stagpaw, at the time, had elected to try and chase the fox off himself. This foolish idea had nearly ended as most would expect it too, the apprentice however got lucky. He escaped merely with a few scrapes thanks to the arrival of the rest of the patrol, whom alongside Wolfstalker and Rockstep, managed to at least deter the fox long enough for one of their clanmates to return to camp to gather a few more warriors to chase the being off completely. In the fray however, Wolfstalker earned himself several, deep wounds, as did his former mentor. Yet, the difference between the two: a day or so after the fight, Rockstep died from his wounds. Wolfstalker mourned of course, however the tom's earlier words form his apprenticeship managed to shake him to life once more, and he stepped back into his usual routine, possibly with even more vigor than before. It was a few moons later that Largestar called upon the clan, and to the large warriors tom, announced Wolfstalker as his appointed deputy.

Wolfstalker's disgruntled expression simply seemed to make the apprentice shrink down further, eyes dropping to the tom's large paws where a tiny pool of red was beginning to form from the fresh wounds across his face. "What were you thinking?" Wolf's voice was rough and strained, holding back a flood of emotion as he stepped over the apprentice. "You could have gotten yourself and your clanmates killed," he hissed, rounding the youth. "Foxes are not to be poked at like a moss ball," he continued hackles rising and the fur at the back of his neck bristling, however, upon taking in the apprentice's fearful, wide-eyed stare, the large tom lifted his head and gave a deep, exasperated sigh. "Just get back to camp, kit. Moorfog can deal with you later."
