Description Makain is a small country on the world known as Nelios. It is famous for its advances in robotics engineering and for its people's unwavering faith in their country and its leaders. It is rich in natural resources, having plentiful supplies of lumber and stone to construct their buildings and cities with, to vast caches of minerals and crystals to power their weapons and infrastructure. It's economy is very stable, with the currenct value at an all time high. Unemployment is extremely low, as is poverty and crime. The Makai have a constitutional monarchy system in place.

The Makain hierarchy composes of five classes. At the top is the emperor, more of a figurehead than a real leader. He holds almost no power, but is still revered by the people. His only real function is to serve as the high priest during some of the Makain's religious ceremonies. After the emperor comes the legislators and tech engineers. The Legistlative has the power to enforce all the laws, and includes the high command of the Makain military. The Tech Engineers, led by the so-called "Tech Priests," are in charge of all robotics engineering, manufacture, design, and production. They are a highly important part of the Makai culture. After them come the standard Makai citizen. Hard-working, diligent, obedient, and intelligent, the standard Makai citizen believes he is working for the greater good. At the bottom come the robots. This does not imply that they are looked down upon; in fact, the robots are highly revered by the masses. Initially designed with neutral AIs, the newer generation of robots have been designed with emotions and feelings, and are almost as real as any other person.

Makain is one of the few lands left that have not been conquered by the Tarsai Empire, which stretches over nearly a hundred star systems. The Makai, having not yet discovered interstellar travel, can only at this point fight off the Tarsai and hope that they are not yet conquered. Before the conflict had begun, the Makai had used their robotics mainly for maintenance and patrol, giving them nearly as many rights as biological beings would have. However, when the Tarsai invaded and it became apparent that diplomacy would not work with these invaders, the Makai switched gears and began designing robotic soldiers to fight off the Tarsai threat.

The Makai army, at the start of the war, consisted of eight divisions of light infantry, two divisions of heavy infantry, a division of paratroopers, a small air force, no navy (as Makain is landlocked), and various companies of engineers and medics. The Tarsai Empire, sending an expeditionary force, consisted of hundreds of legions of heavy infantry, dozens of elite stormtooper divisions, hevay artillery, a large interplanetary air force, spacial backup, a massive navy, and many armoured vehicles. Even after heavily recruiting and a flood of volunteers, the Makai posed little threat to the Tarsai. The Legislative passed a series of laws, granting the Tech Engineers access to most of the factories and productive regions of the Makain country, hoping that a robotic army could be churned out quickly enough to stem the Tarsainian tide.

The Tech Engineers diligently went to work, gathering a workforce of thousands of Makai, including those who were unemployed. After several tense months, the schematics were finished, and the robotic army began rolling out of the factories and onto the frontlines. Just in time, too, as the Tarsai armies had marched across Nelios and burned their way to the Makain country.

Very nice sounds like a set up for future follow up but is a good story for a random idea.

It is, isn't it? Shows what happens when I get some time to myself.
