Wonderful work. Gen13 was one of my favorite comics of the '90s. We will never see a comic like that again. It still angers me how much flack J. Scott Campbell gets whenever he posts a pinup on twitter. Just imagine the uproar if DC decided to republish the TPBs of the original Gen13 series? Freefall in lingerie or lesbian Rainmaker sleeping with male Burnout would make the internet explode.

I love those comics and own every issue, but a few issues had 16 year old Freefall in lingerie and that could probably get the book labeled as officially child pornography in most states.
IMAGE had such a huge effect on me in the '90s with the amazing artwork but I did like how the company made the effort to hire better writers a few years in like Kurt Busiek, Alan Moore, Gail Simone, and Warren Ellis for a lot of the comics. Sadly, by then I think most of the buzz died down. Whenever I talked to older '90s IMAGE fans, no one can recall Moore's Youngblood and WildCATS runs, Kusiek's effects to relaunch Shadowhawk, and Ellis revamping Stormwatch.
The only IMAGE comic anyone remembers from the late '90s and early '00s is The Authority and while I loved that book, it never reached the fame it had after Mark Millar left which frustrates me since I think the book improved after his departure.

Image got me into comics... it felt like a good starting place to understand the genre and follow some new and exciting stuff. I'd just started playing the Champions superhero RPG and I was wondering what a villain plot and hero stood for in those genres.
But as I said, Image was very weak. They never had their Crisis on Infinite Earths, Days of Futures past, Batman Year One, Dark Phoenix saga etc. They had great art and design which is why I have so many of those titles in my collection

I fully agree. It really is sad how Image looked like it was going to be a real competitor to the big two but after the initial buzz of those first few years, they just couldn't maintain their early momentum since by the mid-90s Marvel and DC got their acts together and were making real quality comics with great writers and artists on their top books like Joe Madureira drawing X-Men, Ed McGuinness on Superman, George Perez on Avengers, and Ed Benes on Birds of Prey.
And I can name even more examples. Image just couldn't compete by then. But in hindsight, Image was able to evolve to the current times. The Walking Dead and Invincible were huge hits for them so at least they're still in the game.

Yes... they eventually found good content...but it strayed from standard hero fair. Getting away from X-Men and Avengers clones

Lovely lady. Never read the comic, but one of the Chiodo Bros. loved her comic and I introduced him to Gold Digger.
