Description Commission for o Captain America feeling out of sorts in Japan

The Avengers have had some downtime, and Tony convinced Steve to visit Japan. The Star-Spangled Man with a Plan could not make heads or tails of the country. The last time he met any Japanese, they were fighting them in the war. Still, he was guest here, and tried to follow the customs. It was difficult though, with two women offering dishes he never knew existed

I bet a person could actually set this up as a team in Marvel vs. Capcom.

Let's see if the lawyers wouldn't mind a crossover. I think Ultimate Spider-Man can fit well with Sailor Moon.

I think Steve has much more to worry about than this if he wants to get used to the customs.

True, but I doubt that the diplomatic defender would appreciate the communistic traditions that Japan has adopted from the Soviet Union.

Maybe, but it's a far cry from the Japan that he knew back in the 1940s.Β

Very true, but still I don't think the Good Ol' Cap would appreciate the ways of Communism.

Right, but remember I based this Captain off the film version( I do not read the comics so I had no idea how the comic version treated Communism). I can see him being offput by the ideals, but not outright hostile to the point of not visiting the country.Β

Very true, and I myself have only read the Marvel Civil War comics but I feel like with the Cap's spirit and how Chris Evan's portrays the character I feel like that my comments should be relevant unless the next film does something drastic.

I guess we'll find out when Civil War comes out. Personally, I don't see Mai getting involved in politics, and Chagama was a MOTD from Sailor Moon with little idea of how the world worked.Β

That is Chagama, a daimon from Sailor Moon. She was based off green tea, hence her use:Β wikimoon.org/index.php?title=C…

Tokyo or Osaka today would not be a bad thing overall for Cap, they are fairly Western in most places. Kyoto & Kamakura are more "Japanese" in that respect. Given contemporary Japanese ideas of supers, it would be funny to have him meeting members of the Capcom crowd, or urban ninja, or stumble into an episode of Tiger and Bunny, or the most unusual Ikebukuro crowd of Durarara.

Can't see the Cap embracing Japanese culture. Unless anyone has proof from the comics that prove otherwise. The only American I've ever seen speak up about why the attack on Pearl Harbor happen was Cole Phelps from L.A Noire. in a flashback where he was interrogating a Japanese soldier he explained how he's got respect for the Japanese and asked his troops why do they think Japan attacked America? He says it was because the Americans were withholding their oil. I don't think the Cap woulda seen the way Phelps did.

The Comics actually had him going all over WW2. Cap and the Howling Commandos fought in all theaters of the war... they had more stories that focused on Europe and the Nazis because Hitler was seen as the bigger and more dangerous threat... Thus more stories of Cap fighting the Nazis are out there than there are of him fighting the Japanese.

IronBloodAika In reply to Sam-Nary [2015-02-08 06:44:20 +0000 UTC]

I can't recall any of him in Japan, but I'm not exactly an expert. XD And I never recall hearing about any enemies he's fought from that theater.

Sam-Nary In reply to IronBloodAika [2015-02-08 08:02:35 +0000 UTC]

Some of the ones I've seen were more recent ones... the first real story arch they did with Bucky as Captain America once he became Captain America included some flashbacks with Cap (Steven Rodgers) and Bucky saving a Chinese Scientist from the Japanese before getting flashbacks of Bucky was Winter Soldier then trying to kill the Chinese Scientist because he had plans to create massive bio weapon to solve the problem of over-population...

With the older stories... I'm not as familiar with but I'm sure they did have some story here or there in which he was in the Pacific theater...

Though outside of WWII... Cap has been to Japan after waking up from being "on ice" as part of various "Avengers" story-lines.

They had to retcon some of their adventures since they eventually realized that there is no way they could be in so many places in such a short span of time.

In-game he is always taken aback when Mai pulls an entrance stunt on him in the games. An acquaintance who owns some of the older KoF games showed me a couple of their versus duels. In one of them Mai shows up in a white wedding dress, and in another she has a talking baby doll swaddled in a blanket.
