If fairies and the like really are immortal, there should be more depictions of them in futuristic settings. Well done! I guess I owe part of my praise to , since it's his OC. But I love the design of this character, with the iridescent wings and the dreadlocks. The "Star Trek" uniform suits her; there is already something pixy-like about the women's uniforms of the Enterprise.

Sorry, that sentence was crap. I was curious where the commissioner got the name for the starship. I don't recall an Exeter being in the show.

It was featured in the story The Omega Glory...terrible story

Ah, for a second I thought it was from the British heavy cruiser sunk off Java.

I'm sure the starship is named for the same

Probably...wait, doesn't that mean she dies?

Inspector97 In reply to vassilizaitzev [2014-09-18 01:01:38 +0000 UTC]

She wasn't on board during that mission. She join the new crew once the ship was recovered

vassilizaitzev In reply to Inspector97 [2014-09-18 01:09:05 +0000 UTC]

Lucky her! Wouldn't that make it a cursed ship though?

Inspector97 In reply to vassilizaitzev [2014-09-18 01:13:09 +0000 UTC]

It would give it a reputation....Like the Constellation, Titanic, Defiant, Excalibur....each ship lost but rechristened.

I really am....but their is a line in the 24th century where I don't know anymore. I stopped watching Trek religiously after TNG went off the air

No Deep Space Nine for you?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Inspector97 In reply to vassilizaitzev [2014-09-18 01:58:32 +0000 UTC]

Nope....in my opinion it got stupid. Quark is never jailed and to me the Dominion war was a pale imitation of the Shadow War in B5. I didn't like most of the characters....and I think it was less gritty then is should have been

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

vassilizaitzev In reply to Inspector97 [2014-09-18 02:35:18 +0000 UTC]

My brother was ok until the Dominion War took a backseat to everyone's personal shit. That episode with Captain Sisko in that period piece was the jumping point. In both our minds the Federation was...too perfect...no shady areas besides that black ops thread that went away quckly...and too preachy. It didn't seem realistic for society to behave like that.

Never saw that. Maybe saw one year of DS9

vassilizaitzev In reply to Inspector97 [2014-09-18 02:40:35 +0000 UTC]

In my opinion, you didn't miss much. Hate to say it, I saw the same thing in TNG. There was one episode with a terrorist group on a planet that took Picard and Dr. Crusher hostage. I didn't like how Riker got preachy with the captain of the planets police force; especially when the ahole terrorist leader took a phaser to the back.

Inspector97 In reply to vassilizaitzev [2014-09-18 02:44:49 +0000 UTC]

No...as my attempt to watch Voyager and Enterprise ended quickly because of how stupid I felt the shows were. Now Axanar on the other hand looks great!

rocketdave In reply to Inspector97 [2014-09-17 03:55:34 +0000 UTC]

That is a terrible, jingoistic story- plus I'm not crazy about those episodes where the alien planet is is like a parallel universe version of Earth for no adequately explained reason.

The Federation has fairies, excellent!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Tectorman In reply to Zeonista [2014-09-27 03:28:17 +0000 UTC]

Well, in the Star Trek Titan novels, they actually have a crewmember of the same species as Stitch from Lilo & Stitch, so fairies aren't a stretch at all.

Zeonista In reply to Tectorman [2014-09-27 14:41:44 +0000 UTC]

My Enemy, My Ally featured a Horta ensign, so a space fairy is not at all unusual. Kind of cute, actually.
