I play 1st edition D&D.... they don't exist in it. I prefer a much more Tolkien-esque kind of world

I have an issue with character fighting as "monsters". I mean if you can play Goblins, Orcs, Minotaurs etc.... then who are the bad guys. Plus with these more exotic races, what's the point in playing a Human. Seems to me that people play these things so they can be almost superheroes rather then fantasy heroes
