Description
"Having survived the gauntlet of death outside, Claire Redfield makes her way into the Raccoon Police Department. She find its as dangerous as the streets, but continues on. Along the way she runs into Beverly Harris, the Mayor's daughter. She's on the run from the psychotic Police Chief, Brian Irons. Together, they'll search the precinct for survivors, and a way out from this hell."Β

I did initially wish for the RE2 outfit...but after conversing with the Inspector, we both agreed it was too rigid for the shot. Sorry about that; you can consider this non-canon since Beverly died in the game!

We'll, we both agreed that the vest looked a bit stiff. Honestly, I fine with her outfit. I apologize if this answer is insufficient, but thats what we came up with for the final piece.Β

...Vests aren't stiff. They're made of fabric like everything else. And now, it looks uncomfortable as hell, considering the artist made the vest and everything else look like it's made out of latex. Not to mention the ponytail is too long, the fringe looks weird and her eyes aren't even the right color. They're blue.
I'm sorry, but this was a dumb decision and quite frankly, it's an insult to her original costume. The artist took a great outfit and bastardized it.

By the way you construct your argument, you sound like a purist fan. Am I right? If all artists were to follow your advice, creativity and imagination would go down to zero. They would be forced to use the same character designs over and over again, instead of creating new ones that may rival or surpass the original. Not all new designs would work out, but that is the risk of being a artist.Β
I find it ironic, and a bit hypocritical, for you to criticize me and the Inspector over the design. RE2 was not Claire's original appearance. She was modeled off of Elza Walker, from the scrapped Resident Evil 1.5. She's similar, but sports key differences. Furthermore, Claire's design was altered for Dark-side Chronicles. Do you mean to tell me that only the designers employed by Capcom are allowed to alter her appearance? That's pretty damning and ruinous for someone who wants to draw fan art, or in my case commission fan art.Β
In my opinion, you come off as a fanatic, a word I reserve for one of my highest insults. A fanatic can not be argued with and will never change the subject. You say your a fan of Claire Redfield, but your idea of how she should be drawn is extremely narrow. You are not helping her fans or the fans of Resident Evil, a game series which I enjoy heartily.Β

I don't see what you mean. Her vest and shirt in Code Veronica were just as unique and distinctive as her wardrobe was in RE2.
