I was practicing drawing some of the Doctor's companions. Not a great sketch but a fun one. I thought I'd share.Romana II, Zoe, Sarah Jane, Leela

Who's your favorite companion? I've only seen most of the newer series so I'm not as familiar with these characters here (though I'm sorely tempted to hunt down the older seasons to see what I've been missing lol).

I'd have to say Jamie and Zoe. Though there are many I would have as a companion. Though the old series is a little cheap looking at times, there are some awesome stories that rival anything the new series has done. I would suggest you see: The Daleks, Tomb of the Cybermen, Inferno, Day of the Daleks, Death to the Daleks, Genesis of the Daleks, The Time Warrior, Terror of the Zygons, Robots of Death, Earthshock, Caves of Androzani, Vengence on Varos....just to name a few

Well, I bought "Death to the Daleks" & "Nightmare of Eden" at Best Buy today, I'll let ya know how my first viewing of Oldschool Dr. Who goes, thanks for the recommendations

Nightmare of Eden is awful (IMO) watch it with a grain of salt the size of a car.....it gets a bit silly. Death to the Daleks is a great story. Pertwee is my fav Doctor of all time.

oh leela, like her, she was an ACTION! companion, not many of those, only other I can think of is Ace...she beat up a dalek with a bat!

Just re-aquainting myself with the "Leela series" now! She was a wild lil' thing, wasn't she?
Google doesn't say, but was she a New Zealand Maori? She seems to me to have the features and complection!

Leela could be a decendant from any race on Earth. But New Zealand.....you never know.
I was very sad to see Liz go to. BUt I must say I was very sad to lose the Brig. Liz got the dedication in the show but everyone seemed to forget Nic. He only worked with 5 Doctors! I will miss them both in the new series.

I meant the actress herself, but I do giggle at her tribe's name of "Su've'Team". Makes me think of the writings of Erich Von Daniken & Zachariah Sitchin.

Really? Like the TARDIS or the Sonic Screwdriver I find him way to easy a goto to solve almost every problem. Though the screwdriver currently bugs me more.

True, he is a bit overused as a plot device. But that doesn't detract from his character in my opinion.

Don't get me wrong I like K-9.....but they just over used him .....changed his voice when Leeson left and he had three incarnations himself. K-9 stuck around way too long when that kinda stuff happens.

Actually....I'm not a big fan of Romana. Both of her were attractive, but I'd never want her as a companion.
Personally I like Nyssa. Now that I think of it, I wonder why I didn't draw her in her little Traken tu tu..
