Technically I trace them. That mostly just takes patience and knowledge of human anatomy. And drawing the clothes and hair can take some skill.

Drawing human anotomy is a difficult thing to do. Clothes and hair are part of imagination and are kinda the easy part. Anatomy is the hard.
