In my experience, she was pretty much the only reason to play the game.
But then again, in my experience, when a fan remake ( [link] ) of the game is better than the original, there is something wrong.

I also heard that the AI plays like a cheating a-hole when using her too XD

The AI is like that no matter who you use. But then again, I am remembering from over a decade ago.

man, how can it get any worse if the gameplay is bad enough as it is? X3

Three Button Controller. Meaning that to switch from punches to kicks, you had to press the Start Button. Which meant you couldn't Pause the game. And it's not easy getting a six button controller when you have to rent the console along with the game.
But in addition, you also have the production values. When the female character sounds the exact same as all the male characters... well, she loses some of that charm.
