Description

It lurked beside the bed, a darker shadow than the shadows around it. It held me in absolute terror, paralyzing me in fear. I reached out a hand tentatively and swatted at it, trying desperately, hoping desperately, that the motion would scare it off. It, however, did nothing of the sort.

Slowly, the shadowy creature lifted its head, opening blank white eyes, and peeling back shadowy lips revealing perfectly white teeth. I could feel it was staring at me sidelong with that horrible white gaze. It did not turn to bite me, but I sensed its anger, its agitation, as if it was offended by my pathetic attempt to shoo it off.
