I use photoshop cs5 for everything ^^ To make the speech bubbles, I select a smooth default brush and set it to 3px (black color). Then, I use the ellipse tool > make bubble outline > left click > select "stroke path" to get a black outline of an oval. After, I fill the inside with white using the paint bucket tool. It might sound a little tedious, but it's pretty easy :> I hope this helped!
