This is definitely a work that takes the concept of a "girl in black dress" and pushes the boundaries! I absolutely love this piece for its boldness, ingenuity, and its crazy unique style.
Normally, when viewing works with this same color scheme and similar models, I get bored and pass it off completely. Not with this one. I caught myself looking all around the image, catching glimpses of all the little details you put into it. Not only have you changed the perspective the viewer sees her in, but you've made it almost seem as if she could be in no other position except the one she's in. She needs to be there, she was meant to be there, in order to compliment the exquisite environment surrounding her.
In this work, I see a good balance between the macabre and the surreal. You've taken into consideration the elements that cause us to feel fear and mixed them with elements to create fascination and wonder. I especially love how the hair seems attached to the "ceiling" and then a few tendrils are just hanging down. Is this a sign that more will be falling? Is this the moment when her ability to float is going away?
Overall, quite an excellent piece. Bravo!
