okay, i dunno if it's what you orginally thought of, but this reminds me of Silent Spring, a book by Rachel Carson(eh I think)
anyway, its about the polution of the earth and stuff like that
and to me this picture looks like mother earth beneath a mourning shroud
like she's mourning for the plight of our natural world
...
