When i saw Mediocre-matt 's work: Zero_em_gee ...(very cute,haha.. it's like having a temper when she don get to have a candy) i went to paint... and here it is ... it's done quite fast .. (surprise!) and of course it is done with ref..i know it's not that accurate ... her face is shorter.. well..

I think you ought to consider using harder brushes, Those diffuse ones aren't the right ones to use with the technique you're using. You have good colours but the wrong brushes. Just an advice from my part.
Liked this one though.

oh wow, that's so awesome!! i showed my little sister and she wanted me to print it out so she could show her friends in kindergarten at school

you did excellent on the face! however, when U paint the hair, try to start with thick clumps first. Then slowly blend in smaller and smaller brush strokes. Don't go straight to .5 or smaller. be very careful with the hair.
I'll suggest a flat matt backg with very dark color. Gives the portrait more depth. Don't judge ur skills based on how fast u can finish a work. That's how most amateurs think. The greatest art works of time took ages to finish into perfection. In fact, a drawing teacher once told me, no artwork is ever really finished.
