This is really amazing. It reminds me of a huge, fat glow worm that's been growing in a cave for hundreds of years. I love it!

You reminded me of a toy my daughter had when she was very young. It had a soft, segmented body, colorful butterfly wings and a head that lit up when you squeezed the body. I adored it and kept it for ages. It was called a GloBug.

That's a very cute story. The toys that kids have now, compared to the ones we played with in the 40s and 50s, are simply amazing. Tinker toys, teddy bears, and marbles aren't that much fun! The GloBug sounds like fun for little ones.

I can't describe how cute that GloBug was. Watching her cuddle with it made me melt.
I grew up with Tinker Toys, Lincoln Logs, marbles, jacks, etc. I also recall wood puzzles and Teddy Bears. My favorite toy was my pogo stick.
I think that a lot of contemporary toys rob kids of imagination. That didn't stop me from buying them for my daughter, though. I pretty much wore out her her first Nintendo console.

I know what you mean...we did need to use our imaginations with those toys. Oh, and I LOVED my pogo stick! How could I have forgotten that? I used to hop till I was blue in the face, just about. It was very good exercise, too, and that's something kids today need. I think they tend to be too sedentary because of TV and the internet...and it's really not their fault. If I had the internet when I was little, I wuld have been on it all day and night! Our TV back then was black and white, and most of the days, no broadcasts..I got so tired of that test pattern, lol!

The shows that did air were good ones, as I remember. I LOVED "Treasury Men in Action." That was great fun for our family on Friday night!

Sadly, 'Treasury Men' only ran until 56. I was born in 59. My husband is a 40s boy and he was wondering if you watched 'I Led Three Lives' or 'The Big Story.'
