Update on a WIP I submitted to Scraps about a week ago.I'm finally making some progress but I'm having a hell of a fight with the shading on her right hand. Relying too much on smudge when I should be doing more airbrushing. ??
The working file is 1536x1785 so it suffered a bit in this resize (as if it's not suffering at full size.
).Comments/ crits/pointers would be welcomed. I'm using Photoshop.

Well, her hand looks pasted. Perhaps some of Kitty's face fur can be shown on her hand where she's touching. That may help the hand to blend in more, more accepted as a whole.

Yes, the hands are looking decidedly flat and ugly right now. Some overlapping fur will be the finishing touch. What I've been trying to do is get the light/shadow right first, and I'm failing miserably so far with color, shape and blending. I'm not waving the white flag yet, though.

Well, I wish I knew how to help, but I really don't know what to suggest. Keep plugging at it, as a friend used to say.

Airbrushing would probably help to join the two different tones together, in some areas there seems to need a bit more highlight than others so the airbrushing would help there too, just like a light bit o color though. GL! ^^
