Duck... My heart's beat grows faster. Thump. Duck...Thump, thump. Goose! "Oh, come on!", I yell at Lisa, my classmate. Usually I don't even bother to try to chase the other person in this silly game, but I did this time, and you know what happens? I fall. I trip on a lincoln log that Billy or Jacob probably left out and fall flat on my face. As I lift my head to see how much humiliation I should be feeling, I see a red stain on the carpet. "What's happening?!" Lisa shrieks. I begin to cry, which seems to create a chain reaction throughout the class. The teacher comes barreling over to me from her desk. I turn my head away from her in embarrassment, still crying. She begins talking softly to me, in an attempt to comfort me. I slowly turn my head to her cautiously, as if she is trying to hurt me more, even though I know that she isn't. My eyes shift to her and she's holding a kleenex. "It's okay. It's just a bloody nose. It happens to all of us." The class quiets down and the game continues on.
