Description
I'm calling this done, for now at least. I'm not quite happy with her but I need a break and some fresh perspective. It's been a great learning experience either way.
The character is based on Neil Gaiman's Sandman series.
rendered in Vray, used Hairfarm for hair...

Oh my god, this is the most realistic representation of Death I have ever seen. She needs to be statue-ized immediately!

One of my favourite characters of all time (after Brandon LeeΒ΄s The Crow) This is the best 3d Model recreation of Death I ever seen... So cute and well modeled. Incredible artist you are Intervain. Thats for sure!! Β

did you use mostly the textures to get that detail out or did you use render effects? also how many tris is the mesh?
π: 0 β©: 1
Intervain In reply to Photoshoplovingraven [2013-05-04 20:09:58 +0000 UTC]
Well the detail is a combination of sculpting, texturing and shading... you have to work with all three.
I don't pay much attention to polycounts with models like this, since it's not a game mesh. Let's say it's very heavy

haha fair enough the heaviest sculpt I worked on was 26 million but because I am learning game development I had to re-topo it so I lost some of the detail, do you have any tips on getting a really nice clean texture? my textures are a bit bland and I am never very happy with them but I am eager to learn more!

I like the left picture very much and with a quick look I cant find anything to point out, but with the same quick look on the right picture... it just feels... off... I cant exactly pinpoint why, but everything I can think of points towards the head/neck area... is it too big? too long? I cant say, but it just feels off But overall still like it very much...
