Armor added, new reference, new empire, new information. Aurora is now completely set up to be in EBC now. I wish I had gotten to this sooner for the poor girl, but everything happened so fast it was hard to really tell what happened with her in her cubhood/early apprenticeship.

Fully grown, Aurora stands at about 1'9" at the shoulder, just 3 inches taller than that of the "average" margay. She is the shortest member of her family, taking after her mother's margay size more so than any other Scae/Nia cub. She's also longer, again reflecting her Margay genes more so than the rest of her family. More like than not, she has mostly recessive genes, considering how she looks compared to her other siblings.

I don't really know Aurora that well as a character due to the circumstances of her promotions. Hopefully as I roleplay her, this section will be filled out to a better extent. I'll also begin to add finished pictures here for characters I've roleplayed through apprenticeship.

I've been on a few expeditions with Cierra and I have to admit I like her as a mentor a lot more than I did Xeno. I feel like her kind attitude and instructing ways match closer to my personality, which is really nice! I see how Myles and Lyra are settling into life in Air and I can't help but wonder, though... Is this Empire really home? Or do our hearts lie somewhere else?

... Xeno and I didn't really mesh well as a mentor and apprentice pair. Maybe I was afraid of her becuase of how young I was, but no matter how hard I tried, I didn't really feel like she was a good mentor to me. I-It's not that I didn't like her! I just... never really got to know her well enough to see if she was anything more than the aloof cat she appeared to be.

To be honest, I sometimes question how things would have been if Myles and Lyra had both been given better mentors. I always felt like Andromeda had given us a bit of the short stick when it came to the cats we were paired up with. I mean, Myles didn't even get a mentor after his first one disappeared... Was my concern just amplified because of theirs?

Armor

Upon joining Air Empire, Aurora finally agreed to get some armor to protect herself in order to ensure that she could protect herself better over the up and coming years as she matured into a full gladiator. This purple armor was given to her by Alexandros and Spurius, who helped determine the kind of armor she would need. It's light weight in order to keep from hindering her movement, since Aurora's tactics rely heavily upon her speed while not being reckless with her coverage. She believes that it's safer to have more armor and hinder her abilities slightly than to have no armor and risk major damage if she makes the wrong move. Someday, she may change her armor to something lighter, but for now she feels safest in her current set.

Aurora used to have a blue scarf, but left it behind in fire empire to make it seem as if she and her siblings were taken by somebody. She has no idea what happened to it, but hopes that Garen or Milon found it... though she has no idea if it was wise of her or not to do so.

"We have to think this through, or else we may regret our mistakes later."
Always the thinker, Aurora spends most of her time rationalizing and worrying over her decisions. She's very aware of the fact that each action has a consequence, and in her mind she wants to make sure she makes the best choice possible to continue moving forward. The major drawback to this is the fact that she often finds herself overthinking her choices and over-criticizing her behavior / movements / attacks / you name it. She's a critical thinker, loves working through puzzles, but doesn't always realize that she is missing the big picture. This may eventually change with age.
Reliable
"I've got your back Myles, don't worry about those other cats."
In order to survive in this world, you need to have somebody that is capable of getting things done and is able to keep you safe when you're being attacked, mentally or physically. Most likely caused by the fact that her siblings have always had to rely on each other to get past their obstacles, Aurora has learned that it's wiser to be a hard worker and get things done right the first time than to make mistakes and have others take the fall. She is the one that will always stand by her word and stand for what she says, which is different than what her father did. She is not a "do as I say not as I do" character... probably something instilled in her from childhood.
Mellow
"Your words are nothing more than that, words."
You can yell, shout, beat her up and try to knock her down, and yet Aurora will not raise her voice. She will not scream at the top of her lungs for help nor will she do anything to attack back. There are few things that anger Aurora to where her emotions beyond reason, and she'll be hard pressed to explain exactly what those things are. She's learned to keep her own thoughts to herself, molding a mask around her attitude to help her through daily activities that may annoy other apprentices. Don't assume that her mild manner means she doesn't know how to fight off attackers, you'll soon fine she has quick claws when she needs them.
Skittish // Shy
"I-I'm pretty okay with just staying in a small group."
Members of the empire that seem to have a history of lashing out at others with their voices will seldom see Aurora by their side unless she's been told to join them in a patrol. Although she never saw how the assassins of Fire Empire went about their training, Aurora always seemed to correlate the problems that they had with Andromeda and the way she spoke with them, and because of that she's always felt the need to give cats "like her" a wide birth. This has only been amplified by her own sibling's judgement. If Lyra and Myles don't like you, chances are Aurora's not going to be seen with you. She's slow to make new friends in Air and rarely goes out of her way to meet others. She can sometimes be seen flinching when fights break out.
Eloquent
"You're a smart feline, I'm sure you'll be able to tell me what needs to be done."
Aurora's good with her words... She's not amazing, but when listening to her speak, it's obvious she inherited her father's infamous "silver tongue". She's always had a knack for being able to express herself well, having little to no issue speaking up in front of others. Although she'll never be "leader material" she could potentially use her gift of gab for something.
Supportive // The Voice of Reason
"I'm sure things will turn out alright."
When Aurora and her siblings were younger, she and Dezz both were always trying to keep Lyra (and potentially Myles, though he'll probably never admit it) out of trouble as cubs. This eventually evolved into Aurora's supportive and caring attitude towards both of her siblings, whom she feels sometimes need a gentle nudge (or shove if you're Myles) in the right direction. She's the one to point out when they're doubting themselves too much and mention when they're being just plain idiotic. Although not quite the "mother hen", Aurora does take her family very seriously and will do anything to show that she's on their side.
Solitary // Introverted
"I'll just head out alone."
Aurora prefers little to no company when she's out and about. Spending time around others oftentimes leaves her drained of energy and can even leave her irritable after awhile. She survives best with minimal interaction, silent conversations and just being around others without having to speak with them, even though she can manage pretty well in most social circles if she tried.

Background Information

Aurora was born in Fire Empire to Alynnia alongside her three siblings. She was the runt of the litter and never knew who her father was. This never bothered her or her siblings as they continued to grow and form friendships within fire empire.

The four siblings were very close. Lyra and Dezz probably were the closest of the four, but Aurora oftentimes stuck around Dezz and helped him watch and play with their other two siblings while their mother was out and about. Myles back then was a happier feline, but that was also before his mentor disappeared and he wasn't given a new one.

Dezz was captured and shortly before the cubs were promoted. The three remaining siblings saw it as a ploy from Andromeda to keep them from worrying over their brother, but it majorly backfired. Resentful to the leader for the looks she had given them when they were younger and their fast promotion, the three didn't adjust well to the matter and watched as their mother tried in vain to convince their leader to find her son. There isn't much information about this time aside from the fact that the entire family took a hard hit. Aurora members distinctly from her childhood night were Lyra would cry herself to sleep and Alynnia had to console her.

Once apprenticed, Aurora was given the mentor Xeno, whom she was never fully comfortable with when it came to training. Similar feelings came about with her remaining two siblings and their mentors, especially after Myles' mentor was captured and he did not receive another one. That was when Lyra found Sachin and brought him into Fire Empire.

At some point during her apprenticeship in fire, Aurora confided in Ajax about her fears over her mentor, and how she felt uncertain about how the two of them would get alone. Ajax tried to comfort her, telling her that he had the same fears with her mother over being his mentor.

Sachin quickly became a friend and older brother figure to the three siblings alongside Alynnia's first apprentice Ajax. Eventually, Aurora and Sachin went out on a walk together and Aurora finally got the full story about what happened to her brother and why Andromeda had glared at her siblings when they were younger (focusing largely on Lyra). The three siblings were the spawn of the once hunter leader, (and the cat that had been thought to kill Soren) Scaeden. As soon as Aurora found out, she and her siblings met together and began to piece everything together. Andromeda had to have hated them because of their lineage, which was why she had placed their mother in the assassins and why everything was happening as it was.

Shocked by this revelation and afraid of staying with Fire Empire, the three siblings devised a plan with Ajax to leave. Unfortunately, by that point, Ajax had become mates with Sufferue officially, which meant that the siblings were going to have to make a choice; leave Ajax behind with his mate or have him suffer from the sadness of being without her. Obviously, believing it would be in Ajax's best interests, they left him behind on the night of the raid.

Missing both the attack on Fire and Air, the three siblings told Brutus and Zues that they were going to head out hunting. In the midst of their trek, the group heard the attack take place, but Myles reminded them they needed to continue on and not worry about the empire they were leaving behind. They had one thing on their minds; escaping to Air Empire. To ensure that it looked as if they were taken captive, the three staged a small attack and Aurora left behind her scarf, hoping that one of her old friends would find it and know that she was okay.

OOC Note: Garen took the scarf and will probably be using it for whatever sky sees fit

Upon joining Air Empire, the three siblings were assigned mentors immediately and all were shocked to find that their mentors were actually good cats that cared about their young charges. So far, although Air doesn't feel like home, it's been much more welcoming to them than their old home... despite the fact that many felines have been touched by Scaeden's hatred.

Quirks && Fears

-- Aurora is primarily silent as a character, preferring silent company over anything else. She seldom speaks now that she and her siblings are in Air Empire. Myles and Lyra can do most of her talking for her.

-- Family lineage means nothing to Aurora. If a cat starts bragging about their family, she normally turns the other way and ignores them. It's not about who you're related to, it's about how treats you as family.

-- Aurora is still adjusting to Air Empire and because of that sometimes finds herself tripping over the title of the empire she's with. There are also times when she'll bring up old friends or instances and forget where she is... though most of the time she's pretty happy to be reminded she's not in Fire anymore.

-- Any mention of Fire Empire to her personally can cause some issue, since she got away from the brunt of the "similarities to Scaeden" due to the fact that she takes after her mother, while she watched her siblings come across other problems and have to face them on their own.

-- She doesn't mind being smaller than her siblings, since Myles likes to pick fun at her when they're training together, but if somebody says anything about size being the only thing that matters in battle, she'll be the first to stand up and try to prove them wrong.

-- Aurora has separation anxiety when it comes to her family due to Dezz's capture. She fears that she'll eventually become the only one in her family that is in the empires

-- Aurora is doubtful in the family's choice to join Air. Although it felt like the best option in order to escape Andromeda, she's still not certain her siblings will be happy while Dezz is still out there.

Anura quietly stood there for a few moments, looking at the larger feline with wide, expectant eyes. She had no idea if Andromeda was going to mention anything too painful for her. Soren may have passed away some time ago, but it would be hard to talk about such matters. Anura wanted to say something, to let her know that she didn't have to talk about anything that hurt too much, but the leader let out a long sigh. Anura didn't notice the slight softening of her eyes, which was probably a good thing.

"Legacies are not left in one's wake without great sacrifice and a firm resolve." The snow lynx smiled, suppressing the sudden feeling of a giggle bubbling up in her chest. This wasn't the time to not take things seriously, and although it sounded as if Andromeda was introducing one of the great gods and not her father, Anura knew there was probably a reason behind it. "He treated each member of his empire like family, and he was the best father you could imagine. In peace he was gentle, compassionate; traits I'm sure he bested me with. In battle he was fierce and noble."

And yet that didn't save him in the end. Anura thought to herself quietly. Her mother had only lead to mention that Soren had been thought to be killed by hunters, and that when he had passed on, Fire Empire had lost one of it's brightest flames, but Anura didn't want to mention that. Andromeda already knew the story better than the snow lynx ever could. She didn't want to know that story as well as Andromeda did, she was certain of that.

"He loved his empire dearly, above everything..." The pause there made Anura glanced up at the snow leopard, her ears flicking forward for a moment. "...and he loved them just as much as your mother." Anura felt some form of pride in that comment, knowing that her mother had claimed such a feline's heart... it was easy to see how they had managed to fall for each other in the first place; both leaders had a very strong sense of duty to their empires.

And that is why they could never be mates forever. They both cared too much. She sighed for a moment, before suddenly Andromeda's voice turned broke her thoughts. She glanced up in confusion as the leader started mentioning something about nobody needing to earn their right, and for a moment, the younger feline tried to catch her brother's eye. He would understand what she had meant... right? Yet, she turned her gaze back towards Andromeda when she heard her name.

"...I don't know you well, Anura," The feeling of her tail brushing against her pelt was different, but she did not flinch at the touch. The leader probably meant well, and Anura would take it as much. "...but I can tell if you've come all this way just for information, that you'd go to any lengths necessary for those you love." Anura stood there, looking the leader of fire in the eyes for as long as she could. She did not wish to break the eye contact that the feline had made. It was too important for her to hear the last words that Andromeda wanted to say. There was something there... she knew it. "And that is very much like your father. I know he would be proud."

If there was anything that would have made Anura feel any better, she couldn't think of it right that moment. Making her father proud... even if he wasn't around... had always been something she wanted to do. It's why she worked so hard to become a gladiator, and why she wanted to do everything she could for her empire. It's why she had come all this way.

"I-I" Anura swallowed for a moment, composing herself. "I don't know what to say, but..." She exhaled. "I think I can understand why my-- our..." She shook her head. "Why Nedria and Soren... fell for each other in the first place..." She looked at her brother for a moment and glanced back and Andromeda. "By the way you talk of him, it sounds like you two were close as well.... I-I wish things could have turned out better... for you and him..." She smiled warmly at the snow leopard before her. "You're a brave leader, and will do just as well as our father did in Fire Empire."

Resentful to the leader for the looks she had given them when they were younger and their fast promotion, the three didn't adjust well to the matter and watched as their mother tried in vain to convince their leader to find her son. There isn't much information about this time aside from the fact that the entire family took a hard hit. Aurora members distinctly from her childhood night were Lyra would cry herself to sleep and Alynnia had to console her.

Once apprenticed, Aurora was given the mentor Xeno, whom she was never fully comfortable with when it came to training. Similar feelings came about with her remaining two siblings and their mentors, especially after Myles' mentor was captured and he did not receive another one. That was when Lyra found Sachin and brought him into Fire Empire.

At some point during her apprenticeship in fire, Aurora confided in Ajax about her fears over her mentor, and how she felt uncertain about how the two of them would get alone. Ajax tried to comfort her, telling her that he had the same fears with her mother over being his mentor.

Sachin quickly became a friend and older brother figure to the three siblings alongside Alynnia's first apprentice Ajax. Eventually, Aurora and Sachin went out on a walk together and Aurora finally got the full story about what happened to her brother and why Andromeda had glared at her siblings when they were younger (focusing largely on Lyra). The three siblings were the spawn of the once hunter leader, (and the cat that had been thought to kill Soren) Scaeden. As soon as Aurora found out, she and her siblings met together and began to piece everything together. Andromeda had to have hated them because of their lineage, which was why she had placed their mother in the assassins and why everything was happening as it was.

Shocked by this revelation and afraid of staying with Fire Empire, the three siblings devised a plan with Ajax to leave. Unfortunately, by that point, Ajax had become mates with Sufferue officially, which meant that the siblings were going to have to make a choice; leave Ajax behind with his mate or have him suffer from the sadness of being without her. Obviously, believing it would be in Ajax's best interests, they left him behind on the night of the raid.

Missing both the attack on Fire and Air, the three siblings told Brutus and Zues that they were going to head out hunting. In the midst of their trek, the group heard the attack take place, but Myles reminded them they needed to continue on and not worry about the empire they were leaving behind. They had one thing on their minds; escaping to Air Empire. To ensure that it looked as if they were taken captive, the three staged a small attack and Aurora left behind her scarf, hoping that one of her old friends would find it and know that she was okay.

OOC Note: Garen took the scarf and will probably be using it for whatever sky sees fit

Upon joining Air Empire, the three siblings were assigned mentors immediately and all were shocked to find that their mentors were actually good cats that cared about their young charges. So far, although Air doesn't feel like home, it's been much more welcoming to them than their old home... despite the fact that many felines have been touched by Scaeden's hatred.

Quirks && Fears

-- Aurora is primarily silent as a character, preferring silent company over anything else. She seldom speaks now that she and her siblings are in Air Empire. Myles and Lyra can do most of her talking for her.

-- Family lineage means nothing to Aurora. If a cat starts bragging about their family, she normally turns the other way and ignores them. It's not about who you're related to, it's about how treats you as family.

-- Aurora is still adjusting to Air Empire and because of that sometimes finds herself tripping over the title of the empire she's with. There are also times when she'll bring up old friends or instances and forget where she is... though most of the time she's pretty happy to be reminded she's not in Fire anymore.

-- Any mention of Fire Empire to her personally can cause some issue, since she got away from the brunt of the "similarities to Scaeden" due to the fact that she takes after her mother, while she watched her siblings come across other problems and have to face them on their own.

-- She doesn't mind being smaller than her siblings, since Myles likes to pick fun at her when they're training together, but if somebody says anything about size being the only thing that matters in battle, she'll be the first to stand up and try to prove them wrong.

-- Aurora has separation anxiety when it comes to her family due to Dezz's capture. She fears that she'll eventually become the only one in her family that is in the empires

-- Aurora is doubtful in the family's choice to join Air. Although it felt like the best option in order to escape Andromeda, she's still not certain her siblings will be happy while Dezz is still out there.

Roleplay Example

Anura quietly stood there for a few moments, looking at the larger feline with wide, expectant eyes. She had no idea if Andromeda was going to mention anything too painful for her. Soren may have passed away some time ago, but it would be hard to talk about such matters. Anura wanted to say something, to let her know that she didn't have to talk about anything that hurt too much, but the leader let out a long sigh. Anura didn't notice the slight softening of her eyes, which was probably a good thing.

"Legacies are not left in one's wake without great sacrifice and a firm resolve." The snow lynx smiled, suppressing the sudden feeling of a giggle bubbling up in her chest. This wasn't the time to not take things seriously, and although it sounded as if Andromeda was introducing one of the great gods and not her father, Anura knew there was probably a reason behind it. "He treated each member of his empire like family, and he was the best father you could imagine. In peace he was gentle, compassionate; traits I'm sure he bested me with. In battle he was fierce and noble."

And yet that didn't save him in the end. Anura thought to herself quietly. Her mother had only lead to mention that Soren had been thought to be killed by hunters, and that when he had passed on, Fire Empire had lost one of it's brightest flames, but Anura didn't want to mention that. Andromeda already knew the story better than the snow lynx ever could. She didn't want to know that story as well as Andromeda did, she was certain of that.

"He loved his empire dearly, above everything..." The pause there made Anura glanced up at the snow leopard, her ears flicking forward for a moment. "...and he loved them just as much as your mother." Anura felt some form of pride in that comment, knowing that her mother had claimed such a feline's heart... it was easy to see how they had managed to fall for each other in the first place; both leaders had a very strong sense of duty to their empires.

And that is why they could never be mates forever. They both cared too much. She sighed for a moment, before suddenly Andromeda's voice turned broke her thoughts. She glanced up in confusion as the leader started mentioning something about nobody needing to earn their right, and for a moment, the younger feline tried to catch her brother's eye. He would understand what she had meant... right? Yet, she turned her gaze back towards Andromeda when she heard her name.

"...I don't know you well, Anura," The feeling of her tail brushing against her pelt was different, but she did not flinch at the touch. The leader probably meant well, and Anura would take it as much. "...but I can tell if you've come all this way just for information, that you'd go to any lengths necessary for those you love." Anura stood there, looking the leader of fire in the eyes for as long as she could. She did not wish to break the eye contact that the feline had made. It was too important for her to hear the last words that Andromeda wanted to say. There was something there... she knew it. "And that is very much like your father. I know he would be proud."

If there was anything that would have made Anura feel any better, she couldn't think of it right that moment. Making her father proud... even if he wasn't around... had always been something she wanted to do. It's why she worked so hard to become a gladiator, and why she wanted to do everything she could for her empire. It's why she had come all this way.

"I-I" Anura swallowed for a moment, composing herself. "I don't know what to say, but..." She exhaled. "I think I can understand why my-- our..." She shook her head. "Why Nedria and Soren... fell for each other in the first place..." She looked at her brother for a moment and glanced back and Andromeda. "By the way you talk of him, it sounds like you two were close as well.... I-I wish things could have turned out better... for you and him..." She smiled warmly at the snow leopard before her. "You're a brave leader, and will do just as well as our father did in Fire Empire."
