FINISHED/UPDATED (sorta), with text! Check it out: intoxiton.deviantart.com/art/Nā¦Image to accompany a vignette. Mainly looking for input and feedback on the smoke/aura, billowing forth as the new barmaid is poofed into her new role for the foreseeable future.
Keep it? Rework it? Get rid of it?

Looks alright, I guess. More of an aura than smoke to my eyes, seems a little too ethereal to be smoke per se. If you're looking for the idea of someone being "poofed" into that role, though, I would maybe suggest something that calls out a more swift/violent act, more like a sudden burst? The softness in this aura gives a slower, more languid impression for the spell, if the effect is meant to represent it. Just a couple of thoughts!

Man, now that I think about it, that's a quite delicate quandary. Really capturing the impact/burst of it would require quite a bit of handiwork and, for me anyway, would be tough to illustrate the 3D-ness of.

Well, given the image's style I don't think something too complex might be needed. You can very well ignore what I mentioned above, was just thinking of any observations to give you in case anything helped. That said, how about some subtle *poof!* vectors to the side of the image, following a more comic-esque vibe? Just a thought.
