What's the matter Sans? Surprised to see an old friend? I love AUs where Gaster is spooky mad scientist who experimented on Sans/Pap or just creeping on Sans.

Yeah. I didn't come up with this one though. It's just one I'd seen floating around the Gaster tags on Tumblr and I liked it. I'm open to a lot of AUs involving Gaster though, be it more light-hearted stuff like Dadster where he was Sans/Paps father, or the angsty scary stuff like antagonistic Gaster who did experiments on the skelebros. I love them all.

I imagine Sans and Gaster being science buddies with Alphys until Gaster supposedly fell into a machine (said that on the wiki)
Perhaps he came back and since his soul was maybe half gone, his emotions and feelings he had for Sans went away and replaced with bad ones?

Yeah that's one of the many theories I enjoy: Sans and Gaster worked together at one point, and very likely Alphys. It's what I love a lot about Gaster, that anything is a possibility since we know almost nothing about him. Makes for so many interesting theories and stories. c:

My official headcanon backstory for them is that-
Gaster was the royal scientist, and the two were his sons. They came from the surface- due to another headcanon that skeleton monsters come from the ground from above, and were from the war. The magical barrier turned them into monsters, not remember anything but being peaceful their family, and if old enough their occupation. It also gave them their bones aging ability, and they are able to eat monster food (like Sans loves Ketchup). So Gaster was originally their dad as human and Sans and Papyrus were his sons. The mom is unknown, or perhaps buried somewhere else.
So Gaster took on roll as scientist. It started out nice. He took on Alphys as his apprentice, and Sans helped out plenty once he was old enough to understand and pick up things. it was all nice. But then Gaster started to go mad, and the True Lab was officially made. He used Sans as an experiment for that large gaster blaster looking thing in one of those rooms. He also threatened to use Papyrus, but Sans refused due to him being only a little baby bones.
One day though, Sans was worn out and tired. Breaking down into tears. Gaster saw he was tired, and forcefully offered to give Papyrus a chance at this- Sans obviously refused, but it was two late- since he had already brought him out. Now, this is where the tragic accident occurs. Sans, since he was blasted so many times with the laser, he built up magic ability of telekinesis, with that he grabbed Papyrus and through Gaster down, and since he was blinded by shock- Gaster was not able to save himself with his own abilities, and crashed at the bottom.
Alphys saw the whole thing- and since she wasn't trained enough, she went to that whole True Lab thing. Sans and Papyrus ran away to Snowdin- and since Sans was about 12 at the time- he took responsibility until Papyrus was old enough.
That's my whole headcanon thing. Do you think it's good?

My favorite thought's still that Gaster's their father and was actually pretty cool outside of work but as soon as he was in 'work-mode' so-to-say, he'd stop caring and start experimenting on his sons (though Sans would never let him experiment on Paps so he took it all)
