This is beautiful. I love how the gold color of the light is the only color in this whole photo. Looks great with the grays of everything else. Awesome shot.

I really like the light! Evening sun on a cloudy day often brings some spectacular lighting. I think the foreground is a bit to dark. It would have been a situation for fill flash, but with the reflective iron balls ...

I do agree with you that it is a little dark, but for some reason it seems to show up even darker on dA than it does on my computer screen. I'm not sure why that is...

And thank you for your input!

THis picture is very beautyful and interesting:
1. they are two movement
2. with two lights
3. with two differents textures (metal and wall)
4. with two differents reflex...
I like it!

this looks like a testrendering from a 3d application
very nice shot, cool contrast between the house, ground, sky.

Thank you very much.

And I don't think I'll ever be able to render a stick, let alone anything like this. Thank goodness for cameras!

Great work Stefanie... I'd agree with the comments above, but you can fix the overexposure rather easily... Go dl Adobe Lightroom... It's free... It's like manipulating RAW files but with jpegs.... Awesome stuff. Great work though..... Definate fave.

Clever composition and the quality of light is great.. just a wee bit over exposed on the building. Set to 2/3rds underexpose????

intrinsicvalue In reply to Sun-Seeker [2006-08-01 13:08:16 +0000 UTC]

I agree with you on the over exposure...
I tried to edit it a little in photoshop after the fact, but not very successfully as you can see.

Once its blown is gone I'm afraid...... I dunno what cam you have but I can set my DSLR to underexpose on purpose each shot by whatteva... I use minus2/3rds of a f stop.

intrinsicvalue In reply to Sun-Seeker [2006-08-01 20:31:05 +0000 UTC]

Yes, I know it is. I've got a Canon Powershot s500 which allows for some manipulation of the exposure, but not much.

Hopefully the DSLR will be soon enough...

i love the golden light on the building in stark contrast to the brewing (or passing?) storm, stef.
and the glint off the marbles.
but i especially adore your words.
lovely...keep 'em coming.

Thank you...

Unfortunately I can't claim the words
They belong to Andrew McMahon
But I immediately thought of them the second I took this shot
And they fit so well
I had to use them
