Sorry for the kangaroo overdose
I really love how this anthro looks, but I hate that background, I made a real mess
Curious fact: I hate MMA, I prefer traditional martial arts.

You've submitted a pretty solid picture here on the Easel. What would bother me about it though is not the background in itself, as you have said in the description, but the lack of shadows in it. This is kinda emphasized by the shading done on the kangaroo fighter. My tip for you is next time you draw an animal or anthro, draw a small shadow on the ground. It doesn't have to be complicated shadow, start with a small gray "puddle" on the ground and then alter that puddle into whatever you're comfortable with.

Nice image, the shadowing of the clothes look nice, though from the looks of it you character is missing his shadow on the ground. Other then that the only distracting thing is the back ground is wear the lines were crossed on the the wall. Anyway good job.
