I couldn't believe Garble was Smolder's brother tbh. I was half expecting an original character tbh.

I could believe that Garble's "beatnik" side came from something Smolder brought back from the School of Friendship, and he was insecure about how his new hobby clashes with the way he'd been before.
But this episode didn't really make that clear. No outright denial, just a lack of context that would warrant sympathy.

Once the beatnik thing was introduced, the cringe would not end. For me it was the worst episode of the whole series, but it seems I was the only one.

I don't think this discovery about Garble's poetic side will make many like him more, but it is still quite sweet to see him care about his little sister like a big brother would do.
Could he be considered as reformed? Maybe. But there's still work to do. For example, stopping to be a jerk to Spike. But with Smolder's "help" I'm sure he will mature.
