There were many things that Soren had never expected in life. One was finding love. He had been in love before – more of a one-sided crush – but he had never expected to find someone who would actually love him in return. Finding Link was a lifetime achievement. The Hylian saw something deep inside of the spell caster, and loved him dearly for it.

And soon, the two would be married, yet another feat Soren never expected to accomplish in his lifetime. The blonde was willing to give the sage his whole heart with no strings attached. Their wedding was only a few weeks away, but something wasn’t quite right between them.

It had taken several nights of prodding. Soren had begun to fear that Link regretted their engagement, and that is when the blonde finally admitted to his real problem: although he loved Soren dearly, and would never leave him, he was still having a hard time accepting that he was in love with a man. Simply stated, no woman, no children. The Hylian had always pictured himself in a boisterous, crowded home, packed with other tiny blonde Hylians. Now, his future looked quiet, with only his dark-haired lover to keep him company.

He assured the spell caster that it wasn’t a big concern; that there wasn’t anything that could tear them apart, but the tactician remembered the look in his lover’s eyes. Link wanted a family.

Soren was willing to do whatever it took to make sure he got one.

Hence, why the two now stood in front of Yune, the Goddess of chaos and change.

“Are you sure that you want to do this, Love? Honestly, all I need is you, Dearest Soren,” the blonde pleaded, his ears sticking out to the side adorably.

The sage nodded his head, firm in his resolution. “I will not have you sacrifice an ounce of your happiness just to be with me. I’m willing to do anything and everything to make sure you are happy.”

The archer’s eyes softened as a wave of affection swept through him.

Yune tilted her head towards the branded youth. “Are you prepared?” she asked, her voice timid.

“I am,” the spell caster stated, taking a step towards her.

The Goddess nodded. “I cannot change you permanently, as you are still under Ashera’s control as well. The effects will last for three years, and then you will return to how you are now.”

“I understand.”

The Goddess smiled. “Then let us begin…”

Soren was engulfed in blue flames.
