"Remind me again why I'm here," Marth groaned as he lay his head down on the table.

Ike ignored his friend's obvious discomfort as he scanned the room. "I told you, it's so it doesn't look like I'm stalking Celeste."

"But isn't that what you're doing?" the lithe bluenette asked, his voice muffled against his arms.

"Getting a date with a hot girl is not stalking. I just gotta keep showing up in her everyday activities, and she'll think that we're fated to be together."

"Either that, or she'll get creeped out because you're stalking her."

"Shut up! I think she's coming-… Nope, just another blonde…"

The Prince sighed. "Isn't it Pit's job to be sitting here with you?"

"Yeah, he said he wanted to, but he had something going on," the larger swordsman explained, looking around the room.

"Back again?" Pit asked with a smile.

Ike jumped before beaming at the Angel. "Yeah, just kickin' it with my best friend, Marth."

The cherub's smile faltered. I thought I was your best friend.

The larger man noticed the worried expression on his crushes face, and elaborated, "Oh! W-we're not together! I-I'm not like that! I like girls!"

One more reason we're fated to stay apart… And his stupid job is getting in the way of the one thing I do have; your friendship. "Excuse me one moment, boys," the Angel said sweetly before rushing off.

Ike looked at Marth. "What just happened?! What did I do wrong?!"

"She probably thinks you're stalking her."

Goddess, I don't know what to do anymore… "Ang! Take over for me! I have an emergency!" Pit called and threw himself out of the back kitchen door. He took flight the moment his sandals hit the pavement. Dammit! Just dammit!... Why can't he be like an Angel? Why can't he just love and not care about the details. Why do I have to change who I am for him to like me?

The youth landed on the roof of the mansion Master Hand had built for the Brawlers and let himself in through his second story window. Finally in his safe haven, the Angel discarded his wig and flopped face-down on the bed. Why did I have to be born male? I want to be with him… It's so easy for Marth and Roy; why is Ike so different? With a heavy sigh, the cherub removed his uniform, but lacking the motivation and energy to put something else on, he just crawled into bed naked.

Just let this day be over…

"M-maybe I should buy her flowers?" Ike thought aloud, much to Marth's annoyance.

"Let it go, Ike. She probably just had a family emergency," the Prince growled as they walking into the commons room.

"Who?" Roy questioned, looking up from his game of Monopoly. "That one flat-chested waitress girl Ike's got a hard-on for?"

The Altean sighed. "Seriously, Roy?"

"The size of her breasts doesn't matter to me," Ike stated, walking in and sitting down on one of the couches. "She's a sweet girl… I just want to get to know her better."

"That's what tequila's for."

"Roy!" Marth scolded, shooing his lover away. "Ignore him. If you really like her that much, ask her out on a date. Meet with her at a public place and just hang out for an hour or two, depending on how comfortable she is."

The mercenary nodded, soaking in every word. "Thanks, Marth. I'll do that next time! See ya!" he called as he abandoned the couch in favor of planning in private.

"Man, Ike's boring when he's in love. There's no one to hang out with," Roy pouted, flopping down on the couch Ike had just left.

The Prince raised a brow. "Is that so? Where's Link?"

"In a match with Sonic; getting his ass kicked, I'm sure."

"What about Pit?"

The noble youth shrugged. "Beats me. He might still be at work, but I thought I heard him thumping around in there earlier."

"Is he okay?" the bluenette asked, mildly concerned.

"I think so, but it's hard to tell when he won't answer his door."

With a heavy sigh, Marth ventured up to the Angel's room to make sure he was okay. "Pit?" he called, knocking on the door. He tried the knob and found it unlocked. "Pit?" Quietly pushing the door open, the prince entered the neatly kept room. There was nothing to suggest that the cherub was in need of help.

He found the youth curled up in his bed, snuggling sweetly with a pillow. The scene warmed the bluenette's heart, and he concluded that the Angel just needed a day to sleep in. He vowed to give the brunette some privacy when he noticed that he had accidentally stepped on a discarded shirt. The sole of his foot was resting on something hard, and the Altean collected the garment to make sure he hadn't damaged it. He straightened the top out to fold it when his eyes caught sight of a golden nametag.

Celeste.
