The scars of my past; a hindrance to my future.
I can't be trusted; it's just pure torture.
"You're pale as a ghost, a little sun won't hurt."
Your words are convincing, but underneath is a long-sleeved shirt.
The scars of my past; a dilema to the now.
Wishes to get over fears; I just don't know how.
"Come on," you say, "what are you hiding?"
"Why in you should I be confiding?"
The scars of the past; a hindrance to me.
These tear-filled eyes; I never wanted you to see.
"Tell me, my dear, why you are crying."
"If I told you the truth, you'd think I was lying."
The scars of my past; a hindrance to trust.
But to learn it again; I know that I must.
"Tell me my dear, were you once a cutter?"
"If I should say 'yes', you'd think I'm a nutter."
The scars of my past; a hindrance to fear.
To feel utterly useless; dead whispers, deaf ears.
"The truth, it should free you, you should come to terms."
My eyes flood, can't see you. "Just thinking 'bout it burns."

My burden's now yours; you're stuck with it too.

I honestly just started typing random things while I was bored. That's how most of my poetry is formed. It's either that, I've been assigned to write something for English, or I'm in that paranoid state I get after a panic attack or from staying up too late. I personally think most of my stuff is crud, but that could stem from my low self-esteem. Either that, or I'm the only one that sees the truth. Whatever. At least someone likes it.
