The grin on Whooves' face is very questionable.
And the expression on Derpy's makes my suspicion supported..
I don't know if the humor was intended, but their faces really look well if it was. Plus this has it's charm even if it has a more darker hue than the cheerful one the show has.
They were cute with the normal Whooves, but with the Discorded Whooves, this ship just got hot.
