Chapter 4

Liz lifted her goggles off her eyes,she looked at the machine they were building,she had a spanner in one hand and a oil covered cloth in the other.
'Is it finished yet?' Liz asked her dad.
'Almost,just...need...to....Aha!Got it!' He replied,he had grabbed a loose part that was far in and secured it in place,he stood up and looked at the machine. 'Phew,been working all week on that.'
'What does it do anyway?' Liz asked,curious of its purpose.
'It makes toast!' Prof.Hunter paused before saying,'That is any flavour!' he held his hands up. Liz wasn't all that impressed,a machine......that makes flavoured toast. Might be awesome to some,but Liz hated toast anyway.
'I'm going upstairs now,' Liz informed her dad,she took off her goggles and walked up the stairs out of the lab,and went up the stairs to her room. She closed her door and sighed,she didn't know what to do. She was bored. She could go spy on Zim,though she has already done that....She could go find out what GIR is made of....nah,too boring. GIR isn't really all that interesting anyway. Then she remembered about Dib and the girl,she completely forgot about why she was sad in the first place. She looked at the floor,she didn't understand any of it at all. Just then,the phone rang. She picked it up and answered it,'Hello?'
'Liz!Err.....erm...' Came the other end,of course you can guess who it was.
'Oh,its you...' She said in a slightly annoyed tone,'What do YOU want?'
'Well err...I was just going to ask you....Do you.....want to come over?' Dib asked. Liz thought for a minute,should she go? Should she give up her time to someone who just threw her away like he did?
'Alright,I'll be there in a few minutes,' Liz hung up,she noticed her clothes were covered in oil.

A quick change later she head down to the front door,'G'bye!' she called,and ran out. She ran down the road instead of skipping,or walking. It wasn't long till she got there. Before she rang the doorbell, she made sure that girl wasn't around. Phew,she wasn't. Liz rang the doorbell and heard footsteps inside. Dib opened the door.
'Hi Liz,' he greeted her,'Come in,' he smiled. Liz smiled back and walked into the house,Dib closed the door behind her and turned round.'Liz,about earlier...I-' He was interrupted before he could continue.
'Its ok,' Liz said quietly,she didn't want to seem like a brat,'But,who was that girl anyway?' Dib took a pause to think about how he should phrase it.
'That's Min,' He said before quickly adding,'She's nothing but a friend!' You could tell that wasn't the truth,Liz knew it. Liz knew when Dib wasn't telling the truth.
'I know that you like that girl,' Dib was lost for an answer,Liz sighed,'It doesn't matter.' Liz had outsmarted him,Dib knew that it mattered to her. What could he do? Just then,they heard a loud thunderclap. Liz froze,she was deathly afraid of thunder.'Liz?' Dib asked,then they heard another thunderclap that was even louder. Liz threw herself forward and grabbed onto Dib,she didn't intend to,but she had brontophobia that she has had since she was born. When the next thunderclap came,she let go of Dib this time and instead hid under the table. Dib looked at her,did someone like Liz really have a phobia of thunder?Afraid so. Liz was trembling,it was obvious she wasn't going to come out anytime soon. She had a cushion over her ears so she wouldn't hear it,but the thunderclaps were so loud she still did. Everytime there was a thunderclap,she screamed and jerked. Just thought I should let you know,her brother Ricky had coulrophobia,the fear of clowns. Though that has nothing to do with the story,you can now torture him with clowns. Dib sat down on the floor next to the table,Liz was still trembling. Dib felt sorry for Liz that she had such a bad fear of something like thunder.
