Haha, 3D artist's talk.

And thanks for the advice Dana. Unfortunately C4D isn't for Mac so I couldn't get exactly what I wanted... :/

Ah, to be honest you could do much better than that. the c4d on the left sticks out to much, it grabs all the attention. the background is fine and all, but get the render to stand out more. having the c4d as focus point doesnt really fit in, and maybe add effects to the blast?

Should try "Rotoscoping" the blasts, might make them a little more effective (people use them in photos etc for lightsabers, might work for those too).

Nice pic though, bit too dark on the blue shots side, unless that's what you were going for of course.

Rotoscoping....I thought that was frame by frame editing of something. Then again I've only heard of it from a programme called LS maker

That side was supposed to be dark, as it's possible depicting the dark side of the force in star wars (I wanted to make it looking like he's fighting/fighting for both sides at the same time). And the text would've been hard to read if I took down that gradient's opacity as the text is cut out of it

lol no probs.

And yeah I see what you mean now. You're probably right about rotoscoping being the frame by frame thing, but works just as well on normal pics, so I've found out anyway. Use PhotoShop myself.
