"Urgh..." Axl laid his unheltmeted head down on the desk before him, his exaustion evident in his normally bright green eyes. "X, it's been weeks since our last break! And THAT was only to go to Kinkos to get more paperclips!"

"Relax." Said Zero from his seat in the corner. "We only have one more night--tonight--before we get our annual week off." He brushed his long bangs out of his eyes, also without his helmet. For the past month, all they had been doing was paperwork, so none of them saw fit to bother with their helmets anymore. Even X had abandoned his, for once allowing his short black hair to breathe.

X sat in his respective seat, and then shuffled through a new stack of freshly printed forms. "Hey, look at this..." He said apon reading the first paper in the stack. Axl lifted his head, blowing his red-orange hair out of his face halfheartedly. "What is it?"

"It's an announcement. It seems we're being joined by a new Hunter tomorrow."

Axl let his head hit the desk. "GREAT. Just when I thought I was gonna get a break, I have to deal with a NEWBIE!"
Zero snorted. "Hey, don't forget-- you're still pretty new yourself."
Axl "hmphed" crossly.
Zero turned to X. "Hey, what's the new Hunter's name, anyway?"
"She's a young female named Hallie."
Zero started. "A girl? The last time we had a girl Hunter on the team, it was--" He stopped. Even through how long it had been, Iris still remained fresh in his memory.
"It was what?" Zero realised that Axl and X were looking at him. "...It was... nothing. It was a long time ago. Just forget it."
Axl glanced at X, hoping for an explanation, but he got no such thing. X just went quietly back to his work.
Finally picking up on how tense it suddenly had become, Axl quietly said, "So... You guys doing anything special for your break?"
