Description
Humanized version of Gelu's team, AKA the team with personality (sorry Lewa, but you didn't know the half of it). My headcanon for them (or at least their human versions) pretty much directly confronts all of the issues that canon only dares to hint at-issues that aren't so great to have when you're in the same neck of the woods as a being that can make your thoughts real as soon as you think them.
And a big-ish dump of those headcanons that I don't actually expect anyone to read:
1. Orde's greatest fear is complete isolation. As a Toa of Psionics, he's gotten used to the constant mind-noise in his head and is very disoriented without it. One of the things the Dark Hunters did was to keep him in an isolation tank. Instead of boosting the signal by removing distractions (I know there's going to be at least one Stranger Things fan reading this who thinks of Eleven in that giant tub), it completely shut off his powers. Add that to the fact that he needs the mind-noise to see and you can almost forgive him for thinking it's the universe's way of compensating that he can see everyone else's insecurities and know he's not alone.
2. Having fought against the patriarchy from birth (note that the Matoran have no patriarchy but were still screwed on the gender ratio by the Great Beings), Chiara holds herself to an almost impossible set of standards. She doesn't just want to beat the competition, she wants to be astronomically better just to shut up the assholes out there. As such, her greatest fear is inadequacy. She is aware that she sometimes pushes herself close to burnout and drives away potential friends, but while she's not necessarily happy about it, to her the benefits outweigh the disadvantages. She's more than a little salty that Orde can see right through her-not because she distrusts him, but because she finds him mildly irritating on a personal level.
3. First of all, Zaria didn't mean to, but he has no way to prove it, or to prove he hasn't killed anyone since then. He constantly over-analyzes the memory of the fight even now. His greatest fear is losing control-of the situation, of himself, of whatever he needs to be in control of-he doesn't want it to happen again. While Orde and Chiara's insecurities tend to manifest violently, his mostly take the form of staying out of the spotlight and military-grade OCD. He also has better strategies to manage his anxiety than they do.
So...after Orde, I figured Chiara was next for a redesign. While I still kind of like the classic anime look I had for her, she really didn't strike me as the type to run around the desert in high heels-someone who can pick off an entire colony of Visorak without help is bound to be highly practical. Zaria still looks like Sweet Bro, though, and i regret nothing.
I do not own Bionicle. These are my humanized designs.
