I was looking at a converstation on tumblr this afternoon, which involved creepy games. I came across this wikipedia article of Polybius. I started to read the page, and I came across this line under “Story”:“According to the story, an unheard-of new arcade game appeared in several suburbs of Portland, Oregon in 1981, something of a rarity at the time.”
And I thought “Hey, Gravity Falls is takes place in Oregon…..” And …. this happen. I was kind of surprised that there hasn’t been any art of this, especially after Fight Fighters. But maybe the urban legend of this game isn’t that popular, or that I didn’t look hard enough. But I don’t really care.
I was originally going to paint the whole thing, but I started to do something else towards the end, so sorry if it looks like crap.

Looking at the story on Wikipedia, I would LOVE for an episode like this. Maybe they find it somewhere in an old part of the Mystery (S)hack (like the wax museum). Maybe after they find it, Grunkle Stan starts acting weird or hesitant of the game (maybe he used to have it around, like with the pinball machine in Soos' story) and Dipper plays it because it just seems like an ordinary game. Mabel gets a turn, but doesn't see the games appeal, unlike Dipper, who gets obsessed with the game and goes crazy. I'm not sure where it would go from there, maybe Grunkle Stan calls some people or tries to get rid of it (because it either drove someone he knew insane or it almost put him out of business) and they fight with Dipper and maybe some other people Mabel got to play the game behind Grunkle Stan's back. Maybe, it has to do with Cipher. P.S. there is no page for it in Dipper's book, but expository info about it would/might come from Stan. When I envision this episode, I also imagine hearing the Contagion Soundtrack.

It sounds amazing then again I'm one of those people who are fascinated by urban legends that involve everyday fun things causing people to go crazy.

They say it had Tempest style game play. It's a bit of a legend and most think it might be an early edition of Tempest that was pulled for causing certain "health issues" that games of the time were known to do. Interesting, to say the least.
