I happen to look at a Barn Owl and say "Hmm..the face it creepy yet adorable." and then made a proxy.Don't know what to call her nor any ideas on backstory. I am really tempted to call her Owlet.
Any ideas?

If you can't think of anything then Owlet sounds fine. You can look up synonyms for owl if that will help.
For a back story, the first thing that comes to mind is, she probably grew up in the woods like a rural homestead type of family (back woods). or she was abandoned in the woods from birth and she lived off the land by following the guidance of the owls. Or maybe she got lost on the woods when she was like five or something and was able to adapt.
That's all I got for now, I don't know if that was much help :/
