A few nights ago a friend of mine was looking at my sketch book and saw a drawing of an Irken. She asked why the alien had a ladybug on its back. I decided right then that I had to design a character based on a ladybug.

Character Info:

This is Laydee. Though only slightly taller than a smeet (and thus significantly shorter than Zim) she is a few Irken years older than Zim. She suffers from a genetic flaw similar to the human dwarf. Her body grew so that she has fairly adult proportions between her head and body, but for the most part she retained the build of a newborn.

For the first few years of her life she was pushed around like any short Irken, but soon got sick of it. She has superior intelligence, and used it to A) get back at bullies, and B) get a job in engineering instead of becoming a service drone. People who know her generally fear her, and those that don't know her quickly learn to fear her. She's ruthless when it comes to revenge, and violent by nature, which makes her one of the top Irken scientists in the field of weapon development.

However, despite her very scary nature (which is not unlike Gaz's) she knows how to be brain-meltingly cute. This often gives her the advantage of surprise when meeting someone new. Upon being threatened, she generally fries the enemy with a blast of gamma rays from a laser weapon installed in her PAK (a weapon she designed and built herself).
