Frustration becomes anger. Anger becomes resentment.
Resentment becomes spite. Spite becomes hatred.
Hatred is unbecoming.
The relationship between Thymel and Betelgeuse at first was a friendly one- commander and loyal soldier. Soon, Betelgeuse transferred to an elite squad and the relationship become one of respect and memories. Then came the clone saga, and there was an arguement.
'I will never again call you my general'
He couldn't understand how Thymel could be so foolish. So ignorant. So blind to the consequences. He hadn't known who Monarch was. He watched as the relationship between Monarch and Thymel became more and more strained. Watched them eat at each other's resolve, hold knifes to the other's throats. Becoming corrupted.
He blamed Thymel. For putting duty before everything else. Valuing power rather than knowledge. Forcing each other to fight.
Threads fraying. Frustration leads to hatred.
Somewhere along the line, something had to give.
After his promotion to commander of his own squad, Betelgeuse stopped communicating with Thymel. If he had to speak, it was formal. Cold.
Thymel could only wonder how it got like that.
I've been listening to Tool non-stop for the last few days |D It does things to you.

I've had Parabola and Flood stuck in my head for some reason latelysdfkmsdf.
Naturally the art looks absolutely fantastic, and I donned the storytime panties 'pon my head to read the description you posted, as per usual. <3 It's always so great to see how much life you've put into your characters, and it's art like this with these little stories that leave me aching to see what happens next.

You really do have a talent for picking songs and drawing pictures that fit so well with the pictures and actual situations in the story.
All of these do have such lovely display of emotion in them and it does make me a bit sad to see their relationship get destroyed. It's as if Betelgeuse used to be cute but now he's all grown up and opinionated.. boo..

Love this. Really shows how things changed between them. I love all the connections and relationships your characters develop. It makes everything very real and interesting.

Augh no! DX Two of my top fav irkens in the fandom...going at each other's throats... ;_; Makes me sad...Fav irkens in order: Shleik, Thymel, Bet, Valn, Dicate. probably a couple more in there somewhere....
Still...Every part of this is just...oh man, woman, this is just amazing. One of the best sketches I've ever seen from you. So many amazing angles and conflicting emotions.. I MUST listen to this song when I'm not on a school computer. DX I couldn't possibly decide which expression is my favorite, but Bet's full-body pic there is absolutely perfect--dynamic, emotional, steadfast, cold.
The OONEE thing that could be improved is if We could see more emotion from Thymel as he sinks...maybe showing his shock or fear or betrayal, something along those lines, to really impact the viewer with their emotions.
Other than that...just fabulous. <333

Well thank you, but personally I think Lateralus is still my best. I dooo like my angles and emotions, though ;D You should check out lots of Tool. LOTS OF IT.

First of all: omg awesome sketchies
Secondly and more seriously: I find it sad how these two have drifted so far apart, especially when seeing the little sketches of Bet looking so innocent and looking up to his commander compared to the really vicious ones of him and Thymel. It also seems like the more Bet climbs up in status and power, the more he looked down at Thymel. That's just my two cents anyway XD;
