So during this picture, I discovered that there is a limit to how cheap a pen you can use for serious inking. The limit is a Papermate Metal Roller Micro.THE PEN SMEARED. THE FUCKING PEN SMEARED LIKE GRAPHITE ONLY WORSE BECAUSE I COULD NOT ERASE IT.
So I had to computer clean it. With a touch pad. D<
Okay, I redesigned Dib and Zim for the fact that everything I think about them fandom-wise is like 6 years in the future. Dib's boots are pretty badass, yes? Also I love his shirt. XD Zim hates it of course. Zim's wig is explained [link] <-- there. I figure the clothes happened whenever he finally figured out, somehow, that his kind of stuck out. Also he outgrew his uniforms.
WHICH. I plead for here:
Earth, canonically, is presented as having a pretty intense sun. Which means that it is both warmer, and more radiation-ridden, than Irk. May or may not have lower gravity. Radiation causes damage, lower gravity causes skeletal breakdown (see: astronauts, osteoporosis, etc); Zim's pak goes into regeneration mode. Only, being Zim's pak, it fucks it up. And adds bone structure, causing (probably fairly painful) slow growth, until it figures out what it was doing and starts compensating correctly. It probably takes it like four or five years, though. And I don't think Zim would get more than 6-8 inches (8 shown here, I think).
Which seems like a decent bit when compared to his old height, but ultimately, compared to Dib.... it... really doesn't do all that much. Sorry, Zim.
So yeah. I had too much fun. ^^

I love having Dib taller than Zim! ^_^ But I also can't help making Zim taller too, usually to about five feet. Because once he's in high school, being about three feet tall is going to get him some looks.
My explanation is either self-performed, painful, possibly illegal experiments or sudden growth spurt, kinda like how the runt of a litter often becomes bigger than its siblings. Weird genetic stuff. Idk. But yeah, I love your older Dib. THOSE BOOTS. *wants*

I like Zim's expression both in the past and with your revisions. I as well think Dib's boots are kick ass and his shirt is totally something he would wear.

Whoo! A plausible reason for Zim growth! My personal explanation to a taller Zim is that Earth does has a lower gravitational pull than Irk which causes Zim to grow as tall as a an average human. the reason I like this explanation is because it explains why the tallest are the Tallest. It wouldn't make a lot of sense for some one's "Height" to be the reason they are the leader, but rather what made them tall. Thus, the explanation that they are taller than everyone else due to their experience upon other worlds. Experience would be the time lived there and lived among the natives (or destroy them. XD) The taller the Irken, the more experience they have gained, and obviously lived through if they are back on Irk. Of course, there are places where that theory can be a little questionable like, "OMG THEY WOULD GROW FOREVER AND NEVER STOP NOOOOOES." but meh. I like to think that the Irken's Pak is set up that they can help support a body that grows with experience and the Pak helps their bodies deal with the change of gravity, atmosphere and breathable air.

Yeah, I definitely can go for the experiences=height explanation. But, on the other hand, I kind of tend towards keeping at least an element of canon stupidity, which leads my opinion towards-- maybe Irkens really are just illogical enough for just plain height to be their standards.

I do love canon, in my belief, it's what keeps fanwork, fanwork and not just some other slightly not as original idea. haha,
To keep canon stupidity, I guess one could say that those two did have the height advantage due to "experience" but then they started to hide their intelligence, thinking that the Irken race could catch on and do the same thing, thus gain more height. In their "dumbing down" they actually did start to devolve and become what they are in the show. I just find it hard to believe that Irkens use height for their standards, because we don't see a more even height ratio. In the show, it seems like all the lower level Irkens, be they slaves or not are about the same height, except for the Tallest. 8\
I dunno.
But yeah! I'm glad I can discuss such nerd things with ya, haha.

You're very good, I mean it. I like how you keep the idea of an irken being a alien lifeform, thats different to whar i'm used to over here. People tend to give Zim a human bishounen type ...I find that anoying depending on the degree =.=U Zim is a freacking alien, he should look like one.(also he should have nothing on his crutch!!)

I like this idea.. just because I don't think he'd be suitable being stuck that height for the rest of his life xD I do think he should change height a bit. He'd have to get smarter somewhat. He's quite lucky to have himself grow a bit taller though for his own sake.. sort of a cheat code
I really can't see the faults within the colouring of this with that pen, but you could have just done an exceptional job on the editing (: I adore the texture that's present in Dib's jacket. It's great! The boots.. hell yeah ;DD
