Description
I thought this would be sorta fun to do. To explain why I do the things I do.Get ready for the longest Artist's Comment of all time....
1. DNAngel by Yukiru Sugisaki has to be my absolute FAVORITE manga of all time. The artwork is beautiful as well. Personally, I like the artwork in vol. 3-11. If you've ever read the series and pay attention, you'd probably notice that the art changes, I specifically like those volumes because of the way I feel the art flows and sort of emanates this sort of... life to it. I know that everytime I would read that series, I'd come out of it feeling on top of the world and in a state of wonder.
2.Hino Matsuri- She is a great artist in my opinion, and I feel with every series that she creates, her art progresses. I first started loving her work with Meru Puri and then on to like Vampire Knight, which is more well known. I tried to get a picture from Meru Puri to put on here since it is what started my love for her art, but there are very few pictures of the series on the web.
3.Sailor Moon- OMG, don't get me started. That series it what got me STARTED on seriously drawing. It was the series that started my love for anime and manga. It is basically the beginning for me. And although I don't really watch or read the series anymore, I still use the things I picked up from looking at the artwork. Especially the flowing hair, which is why you see alot of my characters or pictures with people with long hair... I LOVE long hair. <3
4. Arina Tanemura- I noticed on alot of these Influence Maps that Arina Tanemura was like the BIGGEST picture on there. And while she is a great artist, I feel her style is being copied too much.
I loved her artwork when my friend let me borrow her Full Moon O' Sagashite manga. From then on, if I saw any manga by her, I would pick it up in read it.
5. Lolita- The style of clothing is just so cute and pretty to me. The essence of girliness. It is what inspired my piece "Colorful Pandemonium". I usually pick up the Gothic & Lolita Bible to look at the clothing. If I wasn't so shy and fat I would probably wear those clothes in public.
6. Music (in General)- It's not a BIG thing that influences my art, but it does inspire me and help me along. When I hear music (my personal favorites being Skillet, Fireflight, and Switchfoot) I see images in my head or get a certain feeling, and apply it to my art. If I draw a sad picture, I'll listen to some sad music, If I want to draw a happy picture, I listen to up-beat music. But unlike most others my art doesn't REVOLVE around music.
7. Tyshea- For the longest time I was influenced by her artwork, and in a way, I still am. If you haven't read her comic "Salad Days" I suggest you do.
And she's also got some really great artwork in her gallery too.
8. Wings- I love drawing wings. Angel wings, fairy wings, dragon wings... I just love drawing wings. Although I like how Yukiru Sugisaki draws wings, I try to draw them anatomically acurrate, but I usually fail. ;__;
Because I love drawing wings, you'll notice in my gallery how most of my artworks involve people with angel wings.
9. Princess Tutu- I love this anime... LOVE IT. And although I can't say the style itself inspires me (although it is cute) what inspires me from this series the most is the dances and the story line. I love ballet alot, but it doesn't look as good in real life as it does in this anime. I tend to draw alot of Ballerina's too.
10. Koge Donbo- This artist practically set the standard for chibi's. So when I draw my chibi's I usually think of Koge Donbo. >.< And so if my chibi's look somewhat like that, you know why.
11. Nature- It inspires me alot. Seeing photographs of nature and seeing it myself helps to influence my mind. Although you don't see alot of my artwork with backgrounds or nature-like scenery... it makes an impact on how I think.
12. CLAMP- if your a artist who draws in the manga/anime style then HOW COULD YOU NOT KNOW ABOUT CLAMP. I can honestly say that Card Captor Sakura and Tsubasa influence my art. What influences me most is the outfits... they are AMAZING.
13. Deviantart- Everytime I get on here, there are artworks that BLOW MY MIND. It inspires me to do better, and pick up on something that maybe I never noticed before.
14. My Friends- These are the people that influence me the most. Although some friends don't have icons or DA accounts, just know that you are a big part of my inspiration.
Everything around me basically inspires me to draw or influences me in some way. I know that I like to draw flowing artwork, as if everything is melded together flawlessly. But I know my artwork isn't flawless, I just wish it was.
One person could look at something, and the way they see or think about that thing would never be the same as someone else.
I tag all that feel like doing this.
