Description
Fanart for the movie Brightburn!
Definitely one of my favorite horror movies of 2019! The concept alone had me hooked since day one, and thanks to this movie, I find myself constantly humming the song: "Bad Guy" by Billie Eilish
Really hope this movie gets a sequel or some kind of expansion to it's universe!

If I understand that logic
Β Β
= A good Darkside should come to kill brightburn and the othersΒ Β
Instead of Darkseid he may be named Lightspark.Β
And good Doomsday may be named Valentine as in Valentine's day to symbolise love.

Nothing TOO bad. Mostly really creepy with tension. Also, excellently done and well-used gore, wonderfully demonstrating what kind of harm a kid with superhuman abilities can cause.

Rarely do works of fiction ever properly and with detail show off the kind of harm that someone with super strength, super speed, heat vision, and other such abilities can cause. In Brightburn, we see EXACTLY what kind of harm can be caused

Watched the film, my siblings and I viewed the movie as mortal kombat and wannabe superman XD
But yeah the creativity and reality of those superpowers were wow unbelievable

Hard to call him wannabe Superman when he has no interest in being a Superman at all. He's a villain protagonist whose goal (imposed on him by his ship) is to "take the world." Another comparison that makes more sense for Brandon's character would be "What if Goku hadn't been dropped on his head as a baby and made to forget what he was sent to Earth for?"
But yeah, those superpowers are horrifying when in the hands of someone without morals and when played for Reality Ensues.

Yeah, it's best not to draw TOO many comparisons to Superman with this. While this movie asks the question of what if someone with Superman-like abilities was evil, this is very clearly NOT Superman. I mean, Superman never had the ability to mess with technology for instance. Furthermore, Superman's parents didn't send him to Earth to conquer it either. Which is another reason why this is more of a horror story than a Superman one. Observe these ingredients:
Alien child with incredible powers.
Child starts out normal.
Is altered against his will to be bad by forces beyond his control.
Child takes his time with most kills, toying with victims and menacing them.
Evil child wins completely.
Details of child's origins are not properly revealed but hints are given (such as the scene where he talks about wasps).
Looking at this through the lens of an alien horror story instead of a comic book story is a lot more fun. And just looking at the trailers, I'm not sure why there were people who apparently went in expecting this to be a reverse Man of Steel story (whatever that even means).

You are absolutely correct about the tech involvement and alien references
While the wasps I didn't see that coming

The brood parasite idea was definitely a cool and unique angle to take though.

Yes it is. Not often you see a dangerous alien race have their victims raise their kids.
