Description This is a test render I did in Maya w/ Mental Ray trying out some stuff with subsurface scattering, soft shadows, and soft reflections. I thought it turned out looking kinda cool, and my poor computer spent about 30 hours on it, so I figured it'd be worth posting.

What kind of subsurface scattering did you use? If I had to guess, hmm.... diffusion shader?

mr_subscatter - found at [link] - It's based off the BSSRDF Model, and does pretty good, honestly. Check it out, if you haven't already. I'm sure with your massive rendering power and your mental ray masta' goodness you could do something kick'n with it

damnit, that was gonna be my guess but switched to diffusion on the last second .

Yeah I've used it before, never really used it seriously though since I don't got much use for it, since 99% of my renders are metal or glass, lol.
