I didn't romance Solas, yet I can't help but pity him. He believes bringing back the old Elvhen world is worth the obliteration of Thedas, the very land the Inquisitor has sworn to protect.
A non-romanced Inquisitor could potentially choose between leaving him here, stuck behind the Eluvian as mercy or smash it to pieces, dooming Solas to a lone death, but ensuring he'll never threaten Thedas again.

I do not believe that Solas seeks to "obliterate" Thedas. I do not think that would arrange his business. and the Illusive Man was manipulated by Reapers so his motives do not really matter lol. I think Zod is really stupid: why do you want to turn the Earth into Krypton when the Earth's environment makes them overpowering? (They could fly, damn it!) I do not really understand why he needed to terraform everything, there was something on earth that prevented the Kryptonians from living?

I'm still feeling like he's a douche, makes it easier to save the many over the few and banish him. Maybe that'll change by the time DA4 comes out but if the option was here now... bye bye Solas. I wasn't swooned off my feet by the DLC.
