i agree about it being meditative. i used to do very dark oils, and was constantly being told that i should lighten up. but the whole point is for the viewer to have to concentrate, to really get into the picture, without everything popping out easily to be quickly viewed and forgotten. beautiful.

yes - i am sure that many people just ignore works which seem too dark to see... but i know what i am doing and how and it is ipossible to do it in other way (if you want to show darkest shades)
