Here he is, the reborn main hero of my fantasy short story "Tale of Butterflies and Worms".

[ I am aware of how much this is a deep thirst for cosmic heroism, and another page in my own "immortality project," always keeping in mind the brilliant Earnest Becker with his "The Denial of Death" - a must to anyone eager for larger panorama of understanding human existence]

Beyond the evilness which should spread fear around, the sinister hero hides the feeling i wanted to ensnare inside: a dark Messiah/Prophet/Daemon/Demiurge/Spawn of Hell or Heaven, no matter much the name by which would be called, who became as it is after a deep experience in the world of men. Searching to share and receive reason, justice, empathy, altruism, he encountered a savage world of slavery, decay and death, ruled by bloody Worm-Emperors of Egoism (here a symbolic depiction: fav.me/d90j056 ) who claim the world as theirs, empowered by dreadful aspects of Tyranny, Deception or Greed.

Defeated as a noble hero who defended innocence, beauty, kindness, he also saw shattered his fairy tale world, built for those willing to try another kind of living. Put to death by those blind savage powers, he was resurrected eventually by the Goddess of his mind. As a strange bending of a circle, she was born of him and became immortal, enabling him the same immortality, both being two aspects of one and the same. Even if that sounds strangely, only later more is to come and bring light

In moments when fighting is inevitably, from his right shoulder springs out of him the spectral DRAGON OF LOST DREAMS, firing with nightmares hunting black holes to all what it means Greed and its shiny tools of enslaving.

Also in battle, the DEATH SCYTHE in his left hand is self summoning a ghostly appearance to wield it, cropping in the way all the Tyranny which in its ruthless path may only fear the death itself.

The main hero wields the SWORD OF UNBINDING, cutting through cast veils of Ignorance, towards the heart of the Deceiving. For those facing him, he wears the Mirror Mask of Self-Judging.

The THE TAMED STEED OF DEATH is feasting upon the grown up seeds of Egoism inside the degraded human heart.
