After ages away from deviantArt, I return to the one thing that could convince me to do so: a new pokemon OCT, of course! I'm very excited to be a part of Jubilee ^^
I was unable to make it for the competitor deadline, so here's my NPC entry:

Name: Bertrand Le Gall
Age: 27 years old
Gender/Pronouns: Male/He-him

Personality:
The unfortunate result of a nihilistic philosophy meeting clinical depression, Bertrand is the sort of guy who's bound to do nothing most of the time. In fact, he would blend into the background and probably petrify due to inactivity, if it weren't for his companion Triolet, the only one Bertrand truly cares about. Even though he is smart, and has plenty of resources (mostly money), Bertrand rarely accomplishes something, and his achievements are met with the same indifference as his mistakes. He's not a completely lost cause, however: his cool logic and calm demeanor even in the most stressful circumstances make him a reliable problem solver.

Bio:
Born into a fabulously wealthy family, Bertrand had everything he wanted growing up. A gifted child, he succeeded at most tasks, up until his teenage years, where he started losing interest in day to day activities, as he felt they posed no challenge to him. He became increasingly frustrated and unsatisfied with everything. Eventually Bertrand stopped caring altogether, attempting to justify his lack of motivation by claiming everything he had done or would ever do would be pointless in the grand scheme of things. Years went by, and Bertrand's condition worsened to the point where he no longer left his room.
His parents, concerned for his wellbeing (and admittedly, the fact that he was shaming the Le Gall estate by not being a productive member of society), decided to gift him with a baby pokemon brought from overseas: an Alolan Vulpix. Bertrand was tasked to care for the pokemon, who would not eat, be groomed or cared for if not by Bertrand (his parents made sure of that). It was cruel at first, but it worked: Bertrand could not stand seeing the pokemon suffer, and eventually became active again, for the Vulpix's sake, whom he named Triolet.

Six years have passed since then, and the two have become a functional duo: Triolet has pushed Bertrand to go out more and try some new things. It’s a process, but who knows?
