Here, to me is a Gift to remember me

That we do not forget who we are, when we were young, warm and naive

That we do not regret what we have become, when we have grown, strong and frail

That we do entrust ourselves into the future, past mistakes and rights

That we do save ourselves from the past, towards a brighter fight

That as the day ends, when the sun closes in on the pen

That we still have a day to amend, all for love's glance

Tied and crossed in between

Tried and tossed in the wind

Here we are, together you and me

Remember me, in me, you are you

That is you.

This gift is for my younger sister, whom is in her teens - rebellious, stubborn and in search of identity. In my hopes, that she will go forth towards a brighter future and not regret her past when she looks back. Nevertheless, mistakes make people stronger as they learn to grow, in which I hope for her to understand as she walks.

The piece resembles her elder self who is reluctant to let go of the past which is presented by the little her. As they tumble from the sky, should she be able to catch her fall? Or would she fall deeper as the sun sets and the day ends, in which darkness would befall. My hope is that the light still remains in her hands and that God watches over her till the end.
