Considering how creeped out I was after your last image with these two, I'm really not sure why I'm looking at this one. I think I may have a masochistic streak. Or maybe subconsciously I just have a desire to not sleep comfortably for the next few days, lol.

Nice work though, my dear.

Almost forgot to say, you may want to check out Hans Bellmer. He was a Surrealist who did work with dolls.

But ... there's a yellow flower this time.

I'm not sure I want to see Bellmer or not. I am torn. The dolls kind of freak me out too. But I love the almost other-worldly innocence and expressions one can get with them, human without all the baggage I think. So they are a brush I like to use.

Now I think about it, Bellmer may be, at least in part, the reason that your dolls freak me out. There is a little bit of a perversity in his work.

I do like your description of your characters, and it makes me think of a painting I did many years ago of a foetus in the womb. I realised that one of the reasons I was so taken with the image was because, to me, there was a purity to it. It's as if that time is when we're at our most divine, because we're untainted by the world. And there's something to be said for such a state.

Knowledge may be power, but it can also be the stepping stones that lead to madness.
